About the Business

Signature Block

Signature Block is an institution located in Granada, Colorado, United States. The institution is dedicated to preserving the history and stories of Japanese American incarceration during World War II. Amache, also known as the Granada Relocation Center, was one of the sites established by the War Relocation Authority where over 10,000 people, mostly American citizens, were unjustly incarcerated from 1942-1945.

Signature Block serves as a place for reflection, recommitment, and furthering the pursuit of freedom and justice. Visitors can connect with other National Park Service sites that share similar stories of Japanese American incarceration, visit the nearby museum managed by the Amache Preservation Society, and learn about the history of Amache through educational programs and exhibits.

The Amache National Historic Site Act was signed into law by President Joseph R. Biden, solidifying the importance of preserving this significant part of American history. Visitors can contact Signature Block at PO Box 44, Granada, CO 81041 for more information on how to engage with the institution and learn about the history of Japanese American incarceration at Amache.

"Very interesting place to visit. Not sure I'd say so interesting that I'd make a trip here from a place like Denver only for this...but if you happen to be in the area I would absolutely stop by. Good signage to learn about the camp. They have restored many of the buildings. Good to learn about our past, so we (hopefully) don't make the same mistakes in the future."
