"Interesting place that's worth visiting. Use caution when exploring, especially with children. It's an active construction site. There are many gaps in the flooring and stairways, low overhead clearance, and pieces of metal sticking out. There are visually no safety features to prevent you from falling from many of the high points and towers if you venture upward. They're are porta-potties at the entrance. It's free to visit and always open, despite the hours Google lists."
"January 21, 2024 was my third time to visit this masterpiece in work. I am amazed every time I visit. Just the sheer height and size of this structure is amazing. It is a work in progress (construction site) so there are some obstacles and potential dangers. Just be aware and careful of your surroundings. I like to explore but the height of some of the areas elevated my adrenaline and heart rate. No entrance fees and self guided. I will continue to stop and visit Bishops Castle anytime I'm in the area and I would recommend to anybody else to please stop by and visit and also leave a donation"
"Absolutely brilliant what one man can do. I stopped here on my way to Denver and I'm SO GLAD I did. Breathtaking views on the drive up with the sun beginning to set, ample parking, I thought, a continuous video detailing the origins of the castle, and the process it took to build it. Just wonderful. It's all completely free but you are more than welcome to donate as much as you'd like, using the QR code that takes you to their website. The castle itself is so COOL but there are definitely some areas in need of repair. The tallest tower is made out of old metal grates all welded together and the elements and traffic have caused some very scary to traverse weak spots in the stair case. But that's what the enter at your own risk signs are all about haha if you are smart about how you distribute your weight and hold on to your surroundings you can get up and down the staircase with ease and a pinch bravery. Even a weenie scared of heights like me can do it."
"What a amazing hidden gem in Colorado, this castle is worth the drive. This castle was built by a man named Jim. This is a self guided tour through his castle. Please beware if you have children, you can absolutely die here if you're not careful; for the risk takers.....get ready to feel your heart beat!!!!!! It is recommended to donate few bucks. You can buy farm fresh eggs here for 6 dollars and there's a gift shop!!!!!!"
"We came to this place on my birthday looking for adventure. It is a bit of a drive, but it's definitely worth it. This castle was built by one really talented guy. If you have kids, keep them close. You can fall off and die. If you love adrenaline, then you should definitely check this place out."
