Hunter's Friend Resort

"It was truly like glamping. First off, the positives. The location is excellent, no lake view, but walk across the street or drive down to the end of the point nearby. If you're going to Silver Dollar City, staying on Indian Point is perfect to avoid the traffic jam on the main road. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. To the point, I feel bad leaving the review I am about to leave because they are so kind. Everything was clean and daily towel and trash service provided if needed. They have a cute little playground area that feels safe and is perfect for little kids. The pool, while not huge, would be nice during the summer. For the cons that could be addressed to make for better accommodations. The rooms were very small and dated. The walls were so thin you can hear every whisper, tv, and movement on the other side. We had a very inconsiderate group staying in multiple rooms, luckily not touching ours, that would hang out outside in the public areas talking loudly and kids running around screaming from about 10p-midnight both nights. This is not the fault of the property, but back to it's not a quiet place unless your neighbors are quiet. Speaking on the noise issue, we we're not there during the day much at all, but there is very loud construction going on at the property next door. This occurred every day, even on the weekend. If you are staying here during the summer, it's going to get hot because it was stuffy in the Fall with perfect weather. The sleeping rooms in the apartments with separate bedrooms do not have air, only in the living room. My guess is that the winters are going to have some chilly nights as well. Lastly and the worst part is the smell of the water. It's a very strong sulfur smell that's not only bad while you're showering, flushing, or brushing your teeth, but it stays in the air and hits you in face when returning to your room hours later. The property is aware and has warning signs everywhere about this as they are not on city water, but foul is an understatement. As someone who is on a well, there is a way to address this issue. If they addressed the acoustics, water issue, and added air in the bedrooms in the apartments, this would be a perfect little place to stay."

"The beds are so small and they posted as queen, but are full. Very uncomfortable beds and pillows. Stayed 8 days but will not stay again. Hardly any cooking tools."

"The accommodations were basic, clean, and worked for the occasion. Excellent customer service. The staff was attentive. They checked on our travel progress, received packages for us, provided excellent directions and recommended good food and time saving directions. Photo is a Trail near Hunters Friend. We didn’t take many photos. We will return."
