"I went for the free pre-tow inspection before renting a trailer, and I suppose you get what you pay for. The employee glanced at my vehicle and said I was all good, which seemed suspicious, so I asked a few times if there was anything else I needed and eventually he payed enough attention to point out that I did need another piece to connect to the trailer, but he neglected to mention anything about wiring or tow lights. Sure, I guess I should have known more about trailers myself, but if you advertise an "mandatory inspection" (and are selling primarily to people with little to no car knowledge), I think it's fair to say you assume some responsibility for checking on those things. Baffled by the point of the inspection if not to check for that; I have to assume there was some sort of checklist the employee skipped. So I drove an hour away to get the only available trailer, and that location's (competent) employees explained what I was missing. There was no way to get the wiring delivered and installed in time so I had to cancel the reservation and go with traditional movers. I strongly recommend finding another uhaul."
