About the Business

Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA

The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, located at 12 Airport Boulevard in San Mateo, California, is a leading animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for animals in need. At our Center for Compassion in Burlingame, we have a wide variety of dogs, cats, small animals, and exotic animals available for adoption. As a non-profit organization, we receive no funding from national groups, so donations made to us directly support animals in our community. If you have found a sick, injured, or orphaned wild animal, a stray domestic animal, or if you have lost an animal in San Mateo County, please contact us at 650-340-7022. We also offer services such as adoption, spay/neuter, animal control, and lost/found assistance. Currently, adoption fees are waived for all rabbits, so come visit us at 1450 Rollins Road in Burlingame to find your new best friend. Stop by the 2nd floor of our Lantos Center for Compassion to see the reptiles available for adoption. Your support makes a difference in the lives of animals in need.

"Great facility. I TNR ferrel cats. They provide a greatly discounted rate for their spay/ neuter services. Have not used any of their other services. But, based on my experience here they are doing great work at supporting individuals like myself trying to keep the cat population down. Donate if you are able."

"Best place to get your pet spayed or neutered along with basic vaccine. Building is very new. I was able to get my new dog in next day. Staff answered all my questions. I was out of there with a neuter and 2 vaccines and pain medication for exactly $300 which is less then half of what the commercial or private practice vets charge."

"A great place to have your fur babies vaccinated, taken care of or spayed and neutered. You need to make an appointment through their website. The costs are highly subsidized. The organization works on charity so please consider to donate if you utilize their services."

"Incredibly difficult to get an appointment, but it was well worth the wait. One of the few places to get your pets vaccinated at an affordable price. The receptionist lady is a bit tricky to deal with, but all the vets were super friendly and professional."

"These people truly love helping animals. In every day that I worked with the staff, I could see their determination to give every dog, cat, hamster, squirrel, and bird a second chance. They have grit, compassion, and care. You're in good hands if you come here. If you are considering adopting, please visit the Burlingame location. I'm sure you'll find a pet to be with their forever family."
