"The Catrina Hotel in San Mateo, California is a great place to stay, offering a comfortable and pleasant experience. One thing to note is that there may not always be staff at the registration desk at night, which can be inconvenient. We encountered an issue with our room code not working, but were promptly given a different room. Overall, aside from these minor hiccups, everything else about the hotel was good!"

"Went here for Valentine's Day for a quick little getaway. Easy check in/check out. The gentleman at the front desk was super nice. To the right of the office they have a patio area that has plenty of room to hangout. The office itself has good vibes. Very clean, neon lights, great decor and they even have a self check in system. The rooms were very nice. They had a microwave, little coffee set up and even a smart TV. That was honestly probably the best part. You can login to any of your streaming services. My only negative was the floors weren't that clean. Other than that there wasn't any issues."

"First off, this is not a hotel. This is a motel which they attempted to upscale by renovating the interior. But at it's core, this is a cheap motel. The bed was stiff and uncomfortable and squeeked, the floors were not carpeted, and the shower door wouldn't stay closed. The room was stuffy and the linens a bit smelly. There was traffic noise (loud engines, etc). Worst of all, bright light right outside the window and no blinds, so light coming in all night. I won't be staying here again! In fact this is the last time I'm staying at any non-chain hotels. Bear in mind I'm picky / sensitive though -- if you're a sound sleeper and just looking for a place to crash this likely will fit the bill."

"We had a great experience! The room was very clean with modern updates. The bed was super comfortable. The room was small but it was perfect for us as we were visiting family in the area and didn’t spend a lot of time in the room…just slept and showered there. We would definitely stay there again."
