"My dad lives in the stacked flats and I visit from time to time. The amenities are nice pool, outdoor grills, gym, etc. However, management does not care. My dad has obnoxiously loud neighbors above him and my dad has complained at least 10 times with valid complaints. Not just being a “Karen”. They offered to move my dad to an upstairs unit, but refuse to move the people who make the noise. We have an elderly dog, so stairs are a no go. Non-stop noise, screaming, and fighting all day and into the early morning, 3-4am. Just the other day it sounded like they slammed the door so hard during an argument it fell off the hinges. During a regular day it sounds like they throw bowling balls and it will break through the floor. You know it’s bad if you have to wear noise canceling headphones all day just to tolerate being inside the flat. Decided to resort to this review to warn others of this nightmare my dad has been dealing with for months unresolved."

"Currently in the stacked flats. Pricey. Managements been great so far. Generally quiet neighborhood. People a few doors down seem to run like a car cleaning business outta their garage or maybe just own a bunch of cars? Don't know. Soon as its warm they're outside cleaning them. sometimes all day. Unless you like the sound of vacuums and their music, have to close your windows. Bummer cause the weather is great and then you run up the AC bill to keep cool. If you can deal with the price and the nuisance its ok. Been in worse and better."

"Pros: - New & Clean - Maintenance requests are fulfilled quickly - Can walk to Pick and Save for groceries if you don't want to drive - Noise levels were pretty low, at least in my unit Cons: - Parking is very tight in the garage and 2 bedroom apartments only come with 1 space, getting in and out of the garages when there are other cars is difficult. - They will make it hard for you to move. Even if you find new tenants, leave the place very clean, and pay their "fee", they will still make you pay back any "promotions". - There was a security system which was flashing "trouble" and beeping every few seconds. This lasted for weeks. Clearly they are not very serious about monitoring their buildings - Bathroom faucets look cool, but they will splash water on you when you first turn them on. - Water quality causes a lot of build-up on glass shower doors, etc. - The pool is very shallow, don't expect to do any real swimming there."

"We’ve lived at The 85 for several months now and are very happy. Having not lived in an apartment for a number of years, we were somewhat concerned about dealing with noise, maintenance, neighbors, etc., but none of that has been an issue. In our search for the right place, Boone was extremely helpful in giving us options and was very patient with all our questions and concerns. Laura has been a tremendous help in navigating the (few) issues that came up as we moved in and got settled. The location is great and the property is clean and well maintained. We like the spaciousness of the complex, the ability to see different types of housing all in one place. In Madison’s tight housing market, we feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful place to call home."

We love our new place and love the layout of our stacked flat. We are so excited to have a brand-new fitness center to work out in. We are so grateful for Laura as she went above and beyond helping us with all of our questions when we were looking at moving to The 85. The management team at The 85 are great to work with and are always keeping their tenants informed of any property maintenance.
