"This has been the worst place I've ever lived. The crime is high, the walls are thin, the rules are strict if you follow them, and rents have gone up on average about 12% every year. The property manager makes special rules for her friends, like turning up the pool temp for her babysitting gigs. She posts photos of pre-teens doing silly things. While ignoring clearly stolen and destroyed cars being dumped in the parking lot. You can't leave anything valuable in your car in the parking garage because they are constantly stolen. In short don't rent here if you can avoid it."

Jessica Schipper is an outstanding property manager and the entire staff is extremely friendly and quick to respond to any questions or maintenance requests. The grounds are meticulously maintained and our neighbors are wonderful. We'll be enjoying many years here! A+++++"

"If there was an opportunity to give more stars to the entire team (Ms. Schipper (at Blackhawk), Ms. Hegg (Waterside) & Ms. Hageman (Boulder Creek) at McKenzie then I would have queue to be the first one to do so. They all are exceptional professionals and so human at the same-time that one would get amazed. No wonder why Mr. McKenzie built the organization keeping the core vision centralised to ‘creating homes for people’ and the entire team live up to consciously better it every-time one interacts with them. It was myself in wonderland to have experienced such a high level of human interaction, dedication and commitment with the McKenzie team. Thank you so much for being driven by finding solutions and lightening fast response time. It’s 4 months now and am so happy to say, it was a great decision to have a home at Blackhawk Trails."

"We definitely made the right decision when we picked our apartment at Black Hawk Trails. We love Madison's westside, and Black Hawk Trails is conveniently located to everything we want to do. The people are incredible at Black Hawk. Jessica, the property manager, is amazing and extremely responsive. We love working with her. Our neighbors are friendly, kind, and considerate. The complex is gorgeous and well maintained. I'm amazed at how hard the staff work. My husband and I look forward to living at Black Hawk Trails for many years to come."

"I’ve been living at Blackhawk trails for about 6 months now and so far it’s been great! Jessica, the property manager, responses to questions or concerns quickly and is very on top of keeping the property safe, clean, and well organized. I’ve only had a few minor maintenance tickets since moving in but all of them were handled promptly. My unit itself was clean and in a good state of quality when I moved in. They’ve also done a few things for the residents since I moved in, like a grab and go breakfast and a block party. Overall I’m enjoying living here and recommend it. Edit to add my favorite part: the only time I can hear my neighbors is when they’re in the hallway. I hear no noise from the neighboring units which is absolutely amazing when compared to previous renting experiences in Madison."
