"I LIVED THERE FOR THREE YEARS. THEY FIRST SCREWED ME UP WITH A DOCUMENT REQUIRING ME TO PUT UP TWICE THE ORIGINAL WRITTEN PROFER OF DEPOSIT AND ADVANCE RENT. SECONDLY, WHEN I GAVE 30 DAYS NOTICE TO LEAVE THEY ARGUED WITH ME THAT I SHOULD GIVE THEM 31 DAYS NOTICE. I AGREED BEFORE HAND THAT I WOULD COVER CHANGE OF CARPET WITH CHARGE BASED ON THREE YEARS OCCUPANCY. WHEN THEY FINALLY GAVE ME A BREAKDOWN THEY CHARGED ME 100% FOR NEW CARPET. AND, BECAUSE WE HAD BEEN PLAGUED WITH COCKROACHES STARTING IN YEAR THREE, THEY WANTED ME TO PAY FOR A NEW STOVE, A NEW REFRIGERATOR AND A NEW AIR CONDITNG UNIT. ALL BECAUSE OF COCKROACHES. INSTEAD OF GIVING ME ANY CREDIT FOR DEPOSIT, THEY ADDED $4000 DOLLARS AND DEMANDED A TOTAL OF $6500 FROM ME. WE WENT TO COURT. OF THE ORIGINAL $2500 I DEPOSITED THEY WERE ORDERED TO PAY ME BACK $1875. WHEN THE MGR AND HER CONSULTANT GAVE ME A DIRTY LOOK, I ASKED THE JUDGE TO ORDER THEM TO SEND ME A CHECK WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS. THE JUDGE AGREED. THE CHECK ARRIVED ON DAY 6. THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER SUFFERED IN RENTING OFF AND ON DURING MY 82 YEARS ON THE PLANET."
"If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is a nightmare. The office staff is some of the worst I’ve experienced. They will nickel and dime you for absolutely everything and anything, even charges you aren’t responsible for. They continuously shut off the water to make repairs but repairs never get done because their maintenance is awful. The grounds are a mess and the walls are so thin you can hear every conversation your neighbors are having. I’m so glad I don’t live here anymore."
"Living in this apartment for the past three years has been nothing short of torturous. The building is in a desperate state of disrepair, stuck in a time warp that would make even a handyman cringe. Last year alone, I battled with water leaks in two separate areas of my unit, clearly signaling neglect on the part of the management. And, as if this weren’t enough, a noisy, languid landscaping crew routinely shatters the early morning peace one or two days a week. Their machinery roars from 8 am to 12 pm, annihilating any chance of a serene morning. This is an absolute nightmare for those, especially students, whose homes are also their classrooms. Worse still, this dilapidated apartment complex experiences one to two incidents of burst pipes, leaky roofs, and lack of hot water annually, serving up regular doses of inconvenience and discomfort. Parking is a whole new level of chaos. You are allotted just one spot. If you dare to own more than one vehicle, prepare for a long trek from the distant ‘additional’ parking, which is perennially full. Expect a one to two-year wait for an extra parking slot. The apartment’s management seems to have a sadistic pleasure in towing vehicles, no matter if they’re parked correctly. You need to display their sticker like a badge of honor; else, your vehicle might vanish overnight. I once woke up to find my newly switched vehicle towed away from my own spot, with no warning whatsoever. This tyrannical rule enforcement makes one wonder if there’s an unholy alliance between the apartment management and the towing company. I strongly discourage anyone from choosing this nightmare of an apartment. Between the horrendous maintenance, disturbing noise levels, and draconian parking regulations, it’s an absolute disaster."
"Me and my girlfriend lived here for only 6 months, here's some of the problems we faced that cannot be remedied with a reply from this soulless complex Parking: Felt like an actual competition to get an appropriate spot on the Hacienda street, where people parked extremely close to each other, while parallel parking, on an extremely steep hill. The complex itself only allows 1 reserved spot and guest spots were never available. Guest spots were supposed to be a 2-3 day limit but I'd see neighbors there for weeks with no tow. Maintenance: The unit me and my girl had was extremely out of date. The stove tops took about 6-7 minutes to get to full heat. The bathroom toilets were extremely small and uncomfortable. Water would never get hot the last 2 months of our stay. One of the 2 showers we had wouldn't even run any water. The maintenance crew would at least be attentive to fix the water and the temperature, but it would only be fixed for a day or week at a time. Security deposit: As me and my girlfriend moved out, the complex owners were predatory and wanted to charge us $1000 on top of the security deposit we paid. They claimed that pet fur got stuck in the carpet (when our dog was only there on occasional days for the last 2 months). This is on top of paying pet rent, and pet deposit. We asked for proof of the fur in the carpet and the pictures they sent back to us had 0 pet residue in the carpet. It's apparent they probably wanted to change the carpet anyway in such an old unit, and blame us for the replacement even though they had no proof. They never litigated once we told them we'd counter-sue. When I spoke to the owner regarding our stay and our security deposit, he had no remorse when speaking to me and tried to sound as demeaning and predatory as possible. Never used his real name, and tried telling me that I'm in deep trouble for how I left it. Even though I paid a 1750 deposit, 400 in pet deposit, and 50 a month for pet rent, there's no logistical way you could charge me MORE money than that for a dog that was only there on occasion for 2 months, and a couple that was there only 6 months. Only way im taking this review down is if I get an apology and my security deposit back. Don't live here."
"Do not move here! This place has walls so thin you can hear everything people are saying. People are allowed to make noise up until 10pm, so if you work from home, are studying, or trying to take a nap…you have no peace and quiet. We have to deal with a neighbor that sings and plays guitar at all hours, and can be heard laughing with friends at 2am. Why do I have to leave my own apartment to have some peace and quiet? The parking is terrible here. They give you only one designated parking spot, even if you have more than person in your household. We have to constantly fight other people for parking. When my roommate had surgery, he sometimes had to walk a block to get back to the apartment. I have gone to the front office several times with my concerns and complaints and they don’t do anything about it. Unless they change the layout of the building, add more parking spots, or change their policies, this place isn’t worth living in!"
