Skye Apartments 501 West Bobier Drive, Vista, CA 92083

"BEWARE!!!! I lived here from 2021-2022. I was not happy as a tenant then, but had no plans on leaving a negative review as I just don't see the purpose in ranting online. When I lived here, the place was constantly filthy outside. My dog was sick every 1-2 months having to constantly go to the vet with bacterial infections because of the feces that was left unclean. Dog diarrhea that was all over the stairs and walls for weeks at a time. On top of that, there was a dead rat in the hallway for over a month during my time here. Overall disgusting. Not to mention, during my time here I was using the outdoor gathering area to hang out with some friends and had my cell phone stolen from a "gated" community. The phone was found 5 miles away, so clearly the complex was not secure to intruders. And finally, the reason I want to warn anyone from living here is what I am currently going through with Skye. I received a phone call that I owe $700 for damages on top of the $750 security deposit that I never got back. I was deployed, though I had power of attorney who completed all of my obligations. MIND YOU, I lived in this apartment OVER TWO YEARS AGO. And now I am being summoned for $700. With no proof, no itemized list, no photos, and no correspondence from 2022 until now. Military,... and anyone else. BEWARE."

"Lesyle was so amazing. She answered all of our questions and was so friendly. She made us feel at home. She even let us take a tennis ball home for our fur babies. Because of her kindness and the amazing complex this became our #1 location to move to."

"The apartments are what you'd expect from a hotel chain, a glorified hotel room with a kitchen, all carbon copies of one another and completely basic. It is a gated community so that is a plus, but it's very, very expensive."

"The grounds are beautiful and the apartments are fine. The location is convenient. They don't use standard light bulbs in their apartments, so if you have a lightbulb burn out, you literally have to have maintenance come and change it. How absurd is that? You can't even change your own lightbulbs. The parking company Skye uses to manage is predatory, will tow you at the drop of a hat, they are absolutely awful. They make you print out parking permits for guests and are limited to how many you get per month. Then skye got rid of their printer. The payment portal on the Skye website also hasn't worked for two months. So I have had to spend my entire lunch break from work at the bank getting cashier's checks to pay rent. They don't seem to be doing anything about that. The gates are also constantly broken. The office staff has been a revolving door for the last few months as well. They had a great office staff for quite a while. Then one day they were ALL gone, replaced with an entirely brand new staff, then like two months later, all those people are now gone. That kind of employees turnover is not great for the residents, and honestly a little suspect. The original office staff was great. The current (nov. 2023) office staff is not. They aren't very helpful, they mess up scheduling of things and are fairly rude when you need something from them. Pretty poor experience here. Not worth the premium they charge for rent, in my opinion."

"My family and I lived at Skye apartments for 2 years. It was the best two years ever. Maintenance was always there immediately, the leasing office was super quick and responsive, and staff was extremely dedicated to making sure tenants needs were met while living there. This is an amazing apartment complex for families raising little ones. They have a lot of events for families and kids constantly! I truly loved and miss living here. I only give 4 stars because they are coming after us for fees we never owed, on top of always towing our vehicles. They do not really tell you about the parking situation until your car gets towed. They will tow your vehicle and don’t care if you’re a tenant on premises. I wish this review could have been 5 stars. This place is great! But they are money hungry just like many other apartment complexes."
