"The Good: The location is convenient to nearby grocery stores and for being located in Salinas, the neighborhood is pretty nice. Their is not a common wall between your bedroom and your neighbors bedroom. The not so good: The property is managed by a property management company. (dyor) If your apartment is located on the outside of the complex you will hear a lot of road noise even with the double pane windows closed. You will hear everything from tire noise from cars driving on the road to conversations in front of the building. You will also be able to hear driveway conversations, car doors being opened and closed even with your windows closed. There are no windows in the bathrooms only a ceiling fan. mold growth is a constant. You will be forced to have your unit inspected on an annual basis and depending on the inspector, it can feel judgemental and invasive. The inspection can and will include the kitchen, the bathroom, the bedrooms and closets. The PM company states that they do not raise the rent if you request a repair, it seemed to depend on the type of repair requested, but rent increases seemed to be standard and they were steep and it didn't matter if your unit was updated or not. During the summer months neighboring kids enjoyed riding their bikes around the complex and in the driveway. The laundry machines are old and dirty and the prices, just like the rent continued to rise. Take a good look at the laundry machines, the curtains, other window coverings and the cleanliness or lack of for the exterior buildings. There is yard maintenance on Sundays and if your car is parked in it's stall your car will get dirt and debris blown on it from the blower. During the summer, there is a fair amount of pollen and you can expect this to cover your car too.Vehicles have been broken into and vandalized and outside storage spaces have also been broken into with items being stolen. It's for sure apartment living. If you live on the first floor, you will hear a lot of the movements from your upstairs neighbors and you will also be able to hear their TV's, music and toilets being flushed. The upstairs apartments are not fully carpeted so you are going to hear even more noise. If you live upstairs, you will hear apartment doors opening and closing, people talking on their speakerphone in the hallway, and foot traffic. During the summer months when people have their windows open you will hear their televisions and some of their conversations. If you have expired license plate tags and are parking in your assigned parking spot, you may or may not be hassled by the PM Co."
