"I visited Phillip Simon today based on his 4.9 rating and the character of his reviews. I found that he exceeded my expectations both as a friendly and knowledgable watchmaker, but also with regard to price. My watchband had broken and there was a spring loaded bar that held it in place. Well, when it broke, a piece of the bar was stuck in the hole where it sits. So he had to get in there to dislodge the broken piece before reattaching a new bar. In the end, even though it took much more labor than a usual bar replacement, he still did not charge me for the service or the new bar. I tried to offer him something, but he insisted that he does not charge for that. So I told him I'd repay his kindness by leaving him a good review. He earned it!"
"Mr Simon is the treasured find in San Antonio when it comes to jewelry repair! He does not advertise, an asset to the researchers, but for those such as myself who research everything, he is the real deal! Been in the same building for 25+ years and can repair anything presented to him for a nominal fee. I will forever go to him as long as able now that I have unburied a SA treasure to me! I recommend the same to all others! And BTW as other posts mention, a gentleman he is in all facets! This was an Irish import custom hand made ring, front shown and back AFTER repair. FLAWLESS!"
"Mr Simon is a very nice man and Seems to have been repairing watches his whole life. He’s very knowledgeable and is one of the last old school jewelers in town. A real treasure. He finished the watch in no time (a 1960s windup Timex) and had it looking great when he was done. Highly recommend him."
