"The rating I gave is based on the Camp’s interview process. Yes, it is lengthy. I wanted to show the full scope of the interview process for my dog and I. I really wanted to take my dog here, however I was not thrilled by the interview process. I was looking for place to board my dog, and was hoping this would be it. Luckily, I found somewhere else for boarding when I’m out of town, but it would be nice to have a daycare nearby. As far as the interview process went. It was less than stellar. My dog has high anxiety and hates the vet, so she associated the facility with a vets office. I’m my opinion. I don’t think the front office deals with working dog breeds, because when I toured the facility it looked like they catered to mostly “typical” dog breeds. Furthermore, in my opinion I don’t think the staff knows how to actually work with dogs. They just expect the dog to mosey into the facility, and get along with everyone. The front office woman had my highly stressed dog confined in a small doctor’s office entry way, and proceeded to offer her treats using a baby voice. My dog’s body language told her she didn’t want the treat, and she proceeded to get lower by squatting on her level and closer physically with the treat. At which point my working dog went into protection mode and attempted to protect herself and her family. Yes, my dog did bear her teeth, raise her hair, and lunge forward two feet. However, she recalled instantly as soon as I yelled at her in German, and did not even touch the office woman. However, she did get pretty close. By the way, it was their idea for me to unleash her in a confined space with a new person. Not the best idea. Now, my dog has never bitten anyone however she does not like baby voices, and she does not like the vet. For her to recall instantly to my voice and not tear that young woman’s face off was a big deal, because she’s never been put in that situation and it could have been worse. She won’t even take a treat from me when she’s excited or stressed. Usually this happens at the vets office or anywhere new. She’s a good dog, and never gets into trouble. She is very playful and loves to play with people and other dogs, however because she has a type A+ personality she is very choosy on who she likes. She was also bitten by other dogs as a puppy, so she can be a little hesitant of new dogs. It was sad to hear the staff at Camp Bow Wow label my dog Aggressive, because she’s quite the opposite. This assessment hurt my wife and I deeply as we were trying to board our dog while we were out of town on short notice. We took my dog somewhere else to be boarded, and the owner took her time with the interview process. The interview took place outside as opposed to a confined space inside. You can tell this person, and their staff have experience with all types of dogs, and temperaments. My dog even let the owner and the staff walk her. At this point she even lets them give her belly rubs. This has become our main boarding facility when we need one."

"I had an amazing experience at Camp Bow Wow at Pearland Boarding Facility! From the moment I dropped off my dog Zola, I was impressed by the caring staff and cleanness of their facility. I received regular updates and photos during my pet's stay, which made me so happy. Knowing that my pet was in safe hands allowed me to enjoy my time away. I will definitely be booking again in the future. Thank you for providing top-notch care for my beloved Zola!"

"Last December we utilized a different boarding facility in Pearland that was a horrendous experience. This year, for a long Easter weekend trip we tried Camp Bow Wow in Pearland and I couldn’t have been happier! Interview Day - Several weeks before boarding we contacted the Camp and inquired on boarding services. We were advised they had an interview day completely free of cost and utilized to ensure that our pup would fit in with the other dogs. Ace went in the next day and was taken on leash to a private play area. Then they brought in a male dog, then a female dog, and then slowly added more dogs to acclimate him to the environment. Within 10 mins Ace was in the main play area with about 25 dogs his size and loving it. I left him there for the rest of the day and boy was he tired when o picked him up. Drop off day - I dropped Ace off early and was happy to watch him periodically throughout the day on the camper cams (accessible on the website and mobile app). He was clearly having a blast playing with all the other dogs and getting impromptu snuggles from his counselors! Pick up day - I added a bath for pickup day and the staff timed it perfectly so that he was fresh and fluffy when I arrived. I received a camper card showing his food intake for each day and all the toys/bedding that we sent him with. I am so happy to have found a place to board my guy when we take trips that he doesn’t come with us on. Pictures - So the first is a terrible picture and I’m sorry but it does show Ace as “king of the castle” in the play area as seen on the camper cams. The second is Ace within minutes of being picked up. He was so tired from 4 days of playing that he fell asleep right away! Look at how fluffy he was! The bath was great! Thank you so much to all the Camp Bow Wow Counselors and Staff for making me feel like I left Ace with friends or family. I had ZERO concerns that he was being cared for while I was gone and loved being able to checkin on the cameras! We will see you for our next trip for sure!!"
