"Do not recommend renting with Mason properties. Their maintenance is slow and unresponsive, the management team isn’t very helpful, and when it’s time to move out, they charge you for cleaning feels and painting when only general wear and tear applies. Lost half my security deposit to those fees even though I shouldn’t have been charged them. I tried to reach out to them per their instructions and received no response even though I have pictures and video of how we left the apartment. When we moved in, it was still dirty and smelled like weed all the time. Had police entering and existing the complex all the time due to noise complains and other issues. Would not recommend even if it’s your only option. I would give 0 stars if I could."

"One star might even be too much. I lived here for 2 years and just hated it. The floors, ceiling, and walls are paper thin and you hear everything. The hallways are digusting and stained with who knows what. I constantly had house centipedes getting in and they took forever if they ever even came to fix something that needed fixing. I also had my mail constantly stolen from the mail room and there are no cameras so you are just out of luck. The doors to the building are always left open so anyone can get in. They do a final walk through with you that counts for and means nothing because even if you fix and clean everything they ask they will still do their best to keep your deposit and have you owe. Do yourself a favor and dont live here but if you somehow choose to, I would say take pictures and videos coming in and going out. Be very thourough it will save you in the long run."

"Just got off the phone with someone at the office. They picked up the phone without a greeting, the lady that answered already sounded like she wanted to rush me off the phone and she didnt know much about parking pass procedure, which is what I called about. I thanked her for the little information that she felt like providing and she just hung up on me. Just unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. And this is on top of the mountain issues that are already going on with the complex. Bugs, theft, broken laundry facilities, and now unprofessional staff."

"Found a bed bug coming from the walls of the apartment building. Management for University heights/Mason WILL hold you responsible for your apartment and any following tenants who report the issue. They told me that they can't guarantee the premessis is bug free either, and they are not liable for any illness that may come with it. Washers have also broke and they still have yet to fix it after months. In short, there's bed bugs in the complex and they're not going to do anything about it."

"Moved in late April, so I've been here about 2.5 Months now. I've got a South-Facing studio. Got a new job in town and wanted to find a studio to fit my pretty bare-bones lifestyle. So far so good. Staff were good getting everything set for move-in. Rent is amazing for a studio, coming from the suburbs. Only pay electricity and internet. Got new flooring in the kitchen along with a new fridge before move-in. Discovered some of the heat units weren't working and they had them replaced extremely quickly and cleaned up their mess. No bug problems, I'm a clean and tidy person. Minimalist helps too. AC in the studio is almost too good actually, and my electric bill has been reasonable. I'm absolutely irresponsible with over-using AC and running a gaming computer so that skews it. Yep, the building is older. But honestly the other tenants have been good (even during the last month of the school year) and I sit out on my patio most nights and feel as safe as can be. Across Annie Glidden is another story. The complex is built in a U shape which keeps riff raff from wandering through. Quiet-lifestyle policy is something you sign on but I've never seen any apartment security or personnel enforce it unfortunately when there are incidents. Police have been by once or twice for noise in other parts of the building. You ARE going to get that no matter what. Laundry is in-building, change machine is always out so best to get rolls from a store or bank. $1.50 per load, washer/dryer work well. I'm a count-your-blessings kind of guy so having a roof over my head anywhere is nice. 8/10 would recommend."
