"Took 20 min to check in TV didn't work and set up looked ghetto rigged. You get off the bed it sounds like you kicked a filing cabinet. Pool was freezing and tasted like sweat. Room was freezing when we got there. Breakfast was horrible."

"We are staying at the zebra and a cow. It is clean smells good I do not see or smell, any mold or mildew. We did have a hair in the bathtub and the laundry facility for the guest. The dryers do not dry your load of clothes they really need to clean their filters out or get a new dryer because for $2.50 I expect my clothes to be dry"

"Great location just off of I88, BUT I would advise anyone to avoid this hotel. Their door return springs are so strong that they slam shut with such force that the walls literally shake! I was awakened at 6AM by the slamming of a door and then again a few minutes later and then again and again until I was finally forced to get up after only 4 hours of sleep. This defeats the purpose of renting a hotel room. Go elsewhere and spend a few more dollars."

"During our three night stay there were multiple people in the upstairs hallway smoking marijuana behind their doors. There was a constant smell of cigarette smoke in the upstairs hallway through our entire stay. The staff was nice, and I will not fault them, however our room had issues, there were some poorly done repairs come including the TV mount bracket, the AC vent was broken and the inside screens were exposed. The toilet seat underside was not clean, indicating that it was just wiped on the top, the shower did not have any anti-slip mat or strips, and with soft water the tub was extremely slippery during showers, my 6 year old at one time fell and hit the bottom of the tub pretty hard. The pool was as expected, a little on the cold side, but the paint inside the pool room was peeling in some areas and rust was showing from the hardware in the walls, multiple times I spotted a few menacing looking black spiders. A lot of things in need of repair, including the pothole in the driveway, the parking lot itself needs to be blacktopped again, and the ashtray / trash area is within 15 ft of the front door, which is also in disrepair and slams shut if both doors are open. Continental breakfast: Although I'm sure there's nothing wrong with having gallons of 2% milk, Friendly Farms brand from Aldi, available for cereal, it makes me concerned that so many people were handling the jugs with clearly dirty hands and putting it back in the mini fridge. My concern is that individual milk cartons, although more expensive, would be much more sanitary because guess cannot be forced to clean their hands before they touch community items like jugs of milk and bread items. There were tongs to take the bread items but they were largely ignored by others. In a strange observation I noticed that multiple people would bring in campers and park them in the grass along the driveway and leave them, and one gentleman even brought in an aluminum boat on a trailer and pushed it into the grass for a time. Then a crew of workers in a pickup truck came in with a covered trailer and parked in the lot all day long, entering and exiting the hotel without tools, I'm assuming to use the showers without staying? This led me to feel uneasy about my family's vehicles, we brought two, in the parking lot unattended where strange things were occurring throughout the day and night each day. I feel as though I spent $1,000 Plus on two rooms where I could have spent another $200 and stayed elsewhere, which there were openings, and likely not had these issues or concerns about property safety and our health. The rooms: The beds were nicely made. The glass plate that fits in the microwave did not sit on the turntable because it was too large and thus the food did not rotate in the microwave, a minor inconvenience, but it's these details that stick in one's mind. I've stayed in Windham hotels before, including this one, last time it wasn't nearly as rundown, that was prior to the pandemic, I also stayed in a Wyndham hotel in Des Moines area when I went to Portland cement concrete certification for my previous employer, both times I was not disappointed as I am now, especially not in Des moines, that hotel was amazing. However, if this is how Windham allows hotel owners to maintain properties, it makes me seriously consider spending more money and staying at a different line of hotels going forward. If you notice the Google image of this particular hotel, notice that the picture is taken at dusk and is looking up towards the hotel from the ground, likely to hide the heavily damaged blacktop parking lot, this also stuck out to me. I really wish I hadn't spent the money, it was a very poor experience for all of us. Edited for length."
