"Where do I begin? I asked for an accessible room due to a recent injury. I got the room, however it was the furthest from the elevator. I walked (slowly) to the end of the hallway and when I got there, there was a little alcove with my room and another. The door was so heavy that I could barely open it. Once I got into the room I went to unpack and searched everywhere for a non-existent closet. I finally had to hang my clothes on the shower rod. I then looked for drawers. No drawers! When I went to sit down, I had 2 choices....a cheap chair that did me no good or the bed, which was way too low for me. At night, due to my injury I was worried that I would have to roll out of the bed in the morning. I was there for 2 nights and I couldn't even find a laundry bag. I know the rooms were supposed to give the minimalist vibe, but no closet? What they did have, in plain sight was an umbrella! What? When I checked out, I told them how unhappy I was, and of course, I got an I'm sorry. I never did get my receipt, and I can only guess what they added on."
"Stayed one night and it was perfect location by food and drink. Room was gorgeous. The lobby is stunning. Valet and check in super easy! Would definitely stay again! Coffee shop was delicious as well."
"Our stay at the Emily was perfect. Before we arrived, we emailed with Maria, the Sales Manager, at the Emily and she helped us to arrange a private space for my husband and I to have our first look on our wedding day, which was so kind and helpful. When we arrived, the room was clean and warm, which was very welcome during the frigid weather we were having. We booked a suite and it was more than big enough for 8 girls to get ready in, along with 3 makeup artists and 2 photographers. When we left to get on the bus to our wedding, it was raining badly. The gentleman downstairs by the door led me outside under his umbrella and walked with me all the way across the street to the bus. We are so appreciative of the kindnesses extended to us from various employees of the Emily Hotel and we look forward to visiting again!"
"My wife and I have very mixed feelings about the Emily. We stayed at the Emily this last weekend for my best friends' wedding. The location is fantastic and located close to a lot of great restaurants and bars. The lobby is absolutely beautiful. We dined at the restaurant and the coffee bar and had great experiences. The front desk attendant was pleasant and very accommodating. Our positive feelings about the location and everything mentioned above contrast greatly to our opinion of our room and the hotel lounge/bar upstairs. The room was very clean and quiet, but pretty awful otherwise. We stayed in a "luxury king" room. The decor looks like a trendy hostel. The bed looks like it was taken from a hospital room in the 50's and all the furniture was made from plywood with a high polish veneer. The ceilings were concrete and made to look like painted black plywood. Complete with pieces of tape and the chalk writing from where they marked where the electrical went. The closet was made from plywood painted black with hardware store organization pegboard serving as the closet door. Nothing about the room said "luxury" and was in stark contrast to the impressions we had when entering the lobby and dining in the restaurant downstairs. We went to the upstairs lounge bar on Saturday night with our friends from the wedding. The hostess was incredibly rude and treated us as if we were unwelcome and not good enough to be in that area. The bartender was great, but the bar manager closed the bar an hour early citing that "she was short staffed and was closing early because she couldn't keep running around being a bar back, busser and manager". As someone that worked in restaurants for 20 years, I found her to be rude and couldn't see any valid reason why they would close an hour early. I felt for the bartender because he was pretty upset they were closing early and it directly hurt how much money he was going to earn that night. The only saving grace is that we got a discounted block rate with the wedding party. I would never stay at the Emily again and pay the normal rate. As it is, I still cringe knowing that we paid the amount that we did. There were other hotels throughout that same district that offered much better rates and rooms that were far more to my liking."
"What an incredible find. Great location walkable to train and other fab restaurants and bars in Fulton, excellent food and drink choices. Best bartender and drinks were at the rooftop bar. Literally made me say “wow” involuntarily! So much thought has gone into this hotel to make it a blend of European and American stay requirements. Really great quality all round but the very best thing was the staff. They could not do enough for you. I will definitely be back!"
