"I needed to print out some documents for court (no, I am not in trouble). I've never had a problem with anyone at this Office Depot before. Just before printing my documents, I used the restroom. It was in bad condition. My mother taught me that you leave a place better than it was before you got there, so I straightened it up so that the next person would not have to endure such a state. No biggie. The printer I used would not allow more than one attachment to be printed at a time, it was going to take 5 mins for me to retrieve them all. The 2 young male associates were very sweet in trying to help, but they were unable to speed up the process. No big deal and they did not make me feel uncomfortable. The older female associate (early 60's-ish, pale blondish/grey hair, medium build, about 5'5-5'7 with dark glasses) asked if she could help. I thanked her and told her "no" and that it would take about 5 mins. Her demeanor immediately took a left turn. Breathlessly snarling, she said that the store closed in 3 mins, shifting her weight to gaze at watch while tapping it on it's face with her nail. She then sighed heavily, and went to find one of the other associates to discuss my apparent intrusion. When I entered the store, no one mentioned that it was nearly time to close. I understand that they wanted to go home (who doesn't at the end of the day). However, as old as she is, she could use a little more home training and a tutorial, or two, on how to treat customers. Her behavior was overkill, esp. when the no one said anything when I entered the store. On the other hand, she may come from a time where treating people like me may have been more openly acceptable. Pity... I used to like this location."

"Found my desk I needed to replace my old one for work and they had it in stock and on sale as well. Saved more by doing the rewards program. Only issue I had one of the pieces malfunctioned but I'll figure it out soon on my own since I do not like to undo the whole desk. I hate building things but it came out nice. Wide and large enough for 3 monitors and a printer. Thanks"

"The employees at the printing center were curt, inconsiderate, and dismissive. I followed up with the manager, Scott Toman, and at first he was the picture of customer service. He specifically told me that he will cancel my order personally and that the return will be processed (usually) within 24 hours, if not 48 hours. This was Thursday, it is now Monday. I understand that Saturday and Sunday are not business days, but I had expected this all to be resolved the next day because of what I was told by Mr. Toman. I came in the morning of 10/23/23 to ask if the order was cancelled and to garner more information. Mr. Toman then chose to be dismissive with me himself, speaking with passive aggressive language. He also finally revealed to me that it can take up to 5 business days. I kept thinking to myself, wouldn't this information have come in handy last Thursday? He doubled down and insisted that this is out of his hands. Inevitably, he apologized and said he would follow up with me, but what's done had been done. I will be taking this forward with human resources, because being abrasive is not just bad for business - it's also incredibly disrespectful. I think it's time to do better, Office Max Gurnee."

"I went in looking for a certain size protector for my project. I was about to give up, and an employee asked if I needed help and he told me to follow him. He found the exact size I needed! If it wasn’t for him, my project would have never been complete, and I just want to give Justin major kudos. If you see him, tell him hi."
