Cathedral Tower Apartments

"I lived here for two years until it became a "tax credit community" AKA section 8. It had problems; chronic bed bug and cockroach infestation, extremely sloppy maintenance, and some loud tenants. Despite that it was evident whoever owned the property had a vision that it could leave its troubled past behind and ride the wave of growth that the rest of midtown has been enjoying for the last decade. When management announced to the tenants that the property would transition to Sect 8 it was clear that efforts to improve were over, the investment strategy was to put in the absolute minimum cash and effort into the property and get a steady government stipend. I remember the week before I left there was human feces in the stairway, things seemed to be going off a cliff. It's sad really, it's an interesting property and it could have been a nice place to live."

"This place was terrible. Roaches and more roaches. Late at night, I heard a guy tried to get into my place, claiming it was his apartment. That confrontation lasted about 15 minutes. It took the guard to resolve the issue. Though I paid for parking, my car was towed. When the new management tookover, that's when things got worse. Sec.8 tenants made it worse. This was a bad experience."

"I have lived here nearly a year. I seldom give reviews but when I do it’s serious. Since the new Manager Sheena took over I watched this turn from a 1 star review to a ten if I could give it a 10. Sheena stepped into chaos and turned it around quickly. She does things promptly, has a great eye for efficiency, and responds to maintenance issues quickly. If I’m being honest the moment I met her I was rude, and intolerable because I had watched one new manager after the next come and go. I had to apologize to her in part because I’m not a rude person but because I needed to give honor where honor was due. I used to be a property manager, it’s no small task it can be overwhelming… but you’d never know it with Sheena, she is just that good. She is an asset for this management co. I can not write a review without mentioning Candice, oh my goodness I love her. Candice takes her career serious. I have watched her for almost a year now. She makes you comfortable living here. Candice is polite, professional, and always busy. The hallways, elevators, apartments are always cleaned. Great on-site curb appeal if that’s a thing, she brought it. Everything in my house has to be in order spotless so when I walk out of my apartment to clean hallways, and floors I’m happy. I suffer from OCD I love order, and cleanliness. Please give her a raise. I can only imagine what she went through as this place went from one managers hands to the next… what I find remarkable about Candace was her consistency despite all the changes. Props to the maintenance team and the new leasing consultant who is always eager to help. I wish I could remember her name but I just got out of the hospital. The leasing consultant is always kind and she listens. It’s important to listen to the residents. I’m excited about the new team but must say thank you to the long time team as well. "Would rate 0 if possible. Management was good from fall 2021 until summer 2022. Major downhill experience since then. Building is overrun with bugs and homeless adders/drunks. My neighbor right by the elevator screams and rants about people calling police on her grandkids and wants an altercation with anyone who comes out of their apartment or comes home. Usually one elevator is down for repair. They claim to have over 200 work orders and for 8 months now, I have had no hot water in bathroom sink, no cold water in kitchen sink, the water has caused severe skin irritations and has sometimes had a slight brown color and/or bad taste, 3 outlets that overheat and burn up phones and chargers, and towel rods fall out of wall when replaced because they can’t hold weight of towels. Management says I have running water so it’s not as important as other apartments issues. I have also had my apartment robbed 3 times since moving in and laundry stolen from laundry room which management did not check cameras and investigate. The one time I wanted to borrow a bible overnight from the community room which is always locked, I was threatened with an eviction based on grounds of theft if not returned. I wouldn’t even give this dumpster a 1 star rating if possible."
