"I lived at Owl Creek Apartments for just over a year, here is my take on my experience. I would encourage potential tenants to read the other reviews which seem to demonstrate an ongoing theme at the property: Good: 1. Very large and spacious apartments with an in unit washer dryer. 2. Garages that residents can rent for an additional charge. 3. Quick response times from maintenance. However, there were certain things that maintenance could not fix that was just left as is (doors not closing all the way, loose handles etc.). 1. Also, maintenance staff is extremely nice and professional. 4. Lots of young professionals live here, seems like a good place to live if you are a grad student, medical student or transitioning from school to a full time job. Bad: 1. If you are in one of the buildings that is is close to the highway you will hear the highway at all hours of the night and day. I’ve woken up to the highway on several occasions. I work from home and I’ve had colleagues comment on the noise during meetings. It is very loud. 1. Management did reach out to the current tenants and ask them how they felt about the noise, which the tenants said it was not that bad and you get used to it. However, this was around the time that COVID had a huge impact on commuting into work and traffic was at a low. Over the last year the highway has become substantially louder. 2. If you are in the building next to the dumpsters you will be woken up twice sometimes three times a week early in the morning to the garbage trucks. Sometimes the truck takes over 30 minutes to remove all the garbage so it’s super quick where you can just go back to sleep. 3. The doors inside the apartment do not lock properly and will randomly open (kind of annoying if you have guests using the bathroom). 4. We consistently had a bug problem. Flies would come in through the vents or closed patio door during the winter and centipedes come in during the summer. 5. The walls are thin, we can hear when someone enters through the outside door or is walking up the stairs, I could also often hear my neighbor’s music. 6. The apartment may seem luxurious but over time you will notice that materials are builder grade and wear and tear easily. It seems as if the apartment was constructed in a hurry because they forgot to continue the flooring under the refrigerator, the grout in the showers and around the windows is unfinished. 7. Our apartment randomly (not storm related) lost power on multiple occasions, it was very odd because only half of the apartment would lose power. 8. Management is very by the book and not flexible on anything. If you want to leave your lease early (by providing the required 60 day notice), expect a $300 re-rental fee from Owl Creek to “reschedule” cleaning and preparation of the apartment, this is in the lease which is fine but Owl Creek did inform us that they found a renter who would be able to move in 8 days after our move out date (Just as an fyi, by law Owl Creek is required to actively look for a new tenant to cover the lease if it is broken early). However, they insisted on charging rent after we vacated the property and while cleaning crew/painters had access to the apartment to make any necessary and standard updates. So essentially we were charged for what is considered standard of procedure updates that all apartments must go through whether a tenant ended the lease early or not. This felt very greedy on Owl Creeks part."

"My family truly enjoyed our time at Owl Creek. The apartments are lovely and well-constructed with no signs of cheap or shoddy workmanship. We either had extremely quiet neighbors or the walls have excellent soundproofing - either way, it was a peaceful community. The availability of staff for assistance is impressive, and the maintenance workers are friendly and efficient. The buildings and grounds are consistently clean. One standout feature is the secure room and lockers for mail. It adds so much convenience and peace of mind. Having a nearby trash room is also a great perk for easy disposal. Our move-out fees were more than fair. The only drawback is the cost of rent, which is undeniably high. However, in my opinion, the quality of living almost justifies the price."

"If you're a college student who doesn't know how to use a trash or recycling can and you have dogs that bark all day while you're in class, then Owl Creek is the place for you. All night parties, unreliable amenities (the advertised shuttle barely runs), and a manager who trained at a women's prison await you. This place is more of an overpriced, unsupervised dorm than a home. Stay away from this property."

"A completely mismanaged property with problems galore. The trash system should be a Washtenaw County health code violation. The exterior vents are not sealed, so in the warmer months, bugs come streaming in from all over. The buildings were poorly constructed, and after only 6 months everything was cracking. There’s no heat or cooling ducts in the bathrooms, so in the winter, your morning shower will be freezing. The package system is an absolute mess. When work needs to be done on the property, they outsource to the cheapest possible labor, from hours away in rural Michigan. The result is horrible repair work, and companies that leave messes behind in your unit. Avoid this place at all costs. Do not be distracted by how the units look on your tour. Living here is not worth it."

"The best apartment in Ann Arbor. In particular, the club house, swimming pool and fire place here provide a wonderful moment that no apartment in the United States can imitate. Also, the great shuttle service to Ann Arbor everywhere is very convenient. Here, our family has the experience of living in a resort every day. Those who want an experience like ours in Ann Arbor seem to be the great choice without regret."
