Goodwill Store

"Like all of the Grand Rapids Goodwill, this store follows their operation practices. If you are looking for anything cool, unique like electronics or genuine items that have been donated from people, then this is not the place for you. If you like things that have been returned to target and Walmart then you may like the store, but check over the items carefully, as they are usually broken. Also, this store has more glassware and pots and pans than you’ll ever want. if that is what you’re looking for, then go here. However, if you’re looking for genuine thrift stores, I would recommend going to some of the smaller companies, As grand Rapids Goodwill‘s sell their good stuff online only. In addition, I hate when they ask you to “Round Up”. This is the only place I can afford to shop. I finally get a good price on an item, only to get to the register to have them want me to pay more. SMH"

"I have been going to the Goodwill in Standale since it opened. I enjoy going there. The managers are very nice and knowledgeable. The workers are very nice and willing to help. Many a time I have asked what they think of a shirt, skirt, and even pictures for my walls. A few days ago I was there shopping and found a very nice tray with a bird on it. I was done shopping. I was towards the back of the store and the young lady that was on register was handed up front from the back . I told her I was ready to check out and she said she would met me at the register. She walked up to her register a little faster than me. As I was going up to the register a lady walked in the door and quickly to the register. I was a few steps from her with the cart in front of me. The young lady at the register politely explained to her that I was next in line. The lady in a not so friendly voice said she was there first. Then she wanted to know how the register worker know I was next. Before the worker could explain that she and I walked from that back to the front after me saying I was ready to go to check me out, the lady forcefully stated that she wanted to talk to a Manger. Myself and the worker both said to her that the worker would be happy to help her. I explained to the lady that I had plenty of time and she could go ahead. I had one thing so I didn't mind waiting. The worker started to help her and the lady said no and she wanted the manager and she could help me. The worker called for the manager and checked me out. It took maybe 2 minutes to check me out. I am sorry that I did not stay to tell my side of what happened. I shop many Goodwill stores all over Michigan and still my GO TO STORE is the Goodwill in Standale."

"I was racially profiled as soon as I walked in, I was told there was a woman in front of me who wasn't even at the counter yet. The woman at the counter told me the lady is before me and tho she wasn't at the counter yet. I let the other woman go since she was white and I am native American Indian. How awful. I was returning an item they sold that didn't work at all, and offered me a card to buy more junk instead of refunding my money to me. I will never ever go to this location in standale Mich being a native American because of the treatment i received from their employee ."
