"Located a block from the Detroit cultural center including the Detroit Institute of Arts and across the street from Wayne State University. Beautiful mansions renovated into cozy rooms. We were greeted by friendly helpful service at check-in and through our stay. Easy parking in the lot behind the Inn."

"Pros: Beautiful Victorian buildings with a good ambiance Nice and safe location Cheap Cons: The maintenance man opened my door and tried to enter twice while I was sleeping. I had the chain on my door. He said he needed to change the smoke alarm battery in my room, but it was not beeping. I am not okay with someone unlocking and opening my door without my permission, especially twice. As a woman traveling alone, I need to know that my door locks and only I can open it. My room was dirty. There was some kind of blue substance on the carpet, a Peptobismol pill (not mine), random dust and hair, and the carpet was so dirty that it made my feet black. I had to wear socks or house slippers to keep my feet clean. The place could use some minor fixes. For example, one of the drawers in one of the bedside tables was broken. A mini-fridge and microwave would be valuable additions to each room."

"Had an amazing stay at the Inn on Ferry Street. The room was just beautiful and well maintained, a clearly historic building with updated amenities. Staff was very welcoming and helpful, and the onsite parking was great. We were in town for a show at the Majestic - a quick Uber ride as it was a cold evening, but would have been plenty close to walk to on a warmer day. Highly recommend this gem."

"I booked directly for a night away from home for my wife. The staff not only helped select the right room but gave me a better price than 3rd party. They took excellent care of my wife and the experience was so much more relaxing than a normal hotel. The room was exquisite, the staff was welcoming, the house was impressive, and the location was great. We will certainly stay here again but will refer visiting friends here too."

"This used to be our favorite place to stay in Detroit. The location is great. The Inn is very near a Q Line stop which means you can get around town very easily. It's also very easy to walk to local restaurants and attractions. The rooms are nice enough with quirks born out of the updating of these old mansions. You trade off modern expectations for the experience of stepping back in time for a few nights. I'm good with that. All that said, I don't think I'll return to the Inn. The breakfast was a major let-down. It's a continental setup where everything is cold, even the egg-bites seemed to be frozen to the serving plate. I've had better breakfasts at hotel chains. I came to the Inn expecting a Bed & Breakfast experience. They have the "Bed" part of the equation down, but that's not what I paid for. I miss the old Inn on Ferry Street."
