"I wish I could mark a negative star. I booked a property for my daughter's college graduation in Dayton, OH. I did not receive any communication from them. I had left several message with them and emails asking about the check in policies. After looking up their website, it's all fake. I asked for refund, which I did not get, nor did anyone communicate with me. Luckily I was able to book a hotel room. Someone had canceled. DO NOT BOOK with this company! They are scam artist!!!!"

"Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had! I just drove 12 hours to check into a BNB I reserved in November 2022. When I reach the property, there are actual tenants on the property that live there. They've been there since March! No contact from this property management company beforehand! I try calling their "24 hour" support line. No response. I hope they call me soon to resolve this, but regardless. It's a no from me."

"If they only had negative star reviews. Listed my short term rental with Soda Stays and they scammed me out of my reserve money and abruptly ended my contract with no explanation and no contact from anyone, they actually blocked my number. The cleaners they sent to my house one time used the same bedding to make the bed as the last guest had used without washing it. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SODA STAYS. They will not even return any calls, messages or emails and have never refunded any money."

"I have requested a refund three times, but have not received a reply. The Speakeasy Villa Dayton OH 4121 Cleveland Ave. | 1920's Inspired Luxury Home Luxury is definitely not anywhere near this place. Unfortunately I booked on another site and after reading the negative reviews on VRBO asked the host three different times to explain if changes had been made but did not get a reply. When I tried to cancel I was told I missed the deadline by one day. We decided to stay rather than lose the money. Upon arrival we found the reviews didn’t even scratch the surface of the misrepresentation of this rental. We were supposed to stay for three nights but left the next morning and checked into a hotel. Here are some examples of what we found (or didn’t) Entry - front storm door held wide open with a concrete block holding it because it won’t close due to the warped frame causing it to blow with the wind, I had to secure it against the broken railing with the block to stop the noise, yard overgrown, dirt on the front stoop that had two concrete blocks as the first step. Living spaces - Strong stale cigarette odor throughout the house. Ants in kitchen and living room.. one actually crawling on me while sitting on the couch. (See dirt, pet hair, crumbs under cushion) Bathroom - toilet seat needed to be tightened (which I did, but it came loose again) and it slid side to side when sat upon plus the porcelain toilet stool was not secure to the floor and wobbled, hot/cold faucets are reversed, missing hook and torn shower curtain, mold and/or discolored caulk in the shower, the faucet head doesn’t completely shut off so they installed a lever natural gas type shutoff valve at the shower head. miss-matched thin towels and TP you can see through. Kitchen - poor lighting w/only one of two bulbs working in ceiling fixture, table wobbly, top delaminated and stained, only one fork no dinner knives in jumbled, broken silverware drawer but at least the fridge was clean. No drinking glasses just 3 coffee mugs. Bedrooms - Only one of the two bedside lamps in each bedroom had an outlet and were thus unplugged, at least the bed linens were clean for the one night we stayed there."
