Sycamore Square Apartments

"I would have had nothing but good things to say about my experience living here but unfortunately due to our treatment post moving out I have to warn people about it. This complex will over charge you for every tiny thing in order to not just refuse giving back your deposit but to charge you extra money. They tried to frame us with false images of how the unit was left when I have video proof of how it was left after I had cleaned it to the standard of the paper they gave us. Management will ignore you and stone wall you. Do not live here."

"I took a friend to tour a unit and while the woman giving the tour was friendly and nice, the over all professionalism and lack of regard for potential tenants was disgraceful. Landlords and rental properties nickel and dime you anyway, but we took off work to drive to see this apartment for them to deny her for being $100 under the 3x rent cut off. Even with a co-signer they expressed she would still be denied. We also drove 2 hours to see this place too, like why would you have potential tenant come and do all of this and jump through all of these hoops for $690 a month? Not even people working MINIMUM wage in the state would be able to live here, how you can’t be sued for that I don’t know. The unit was fine and quaint but you’d think you were buying a $500k house they way they acted. I’m guessing we dodged a bullet, hopefully whoever is reading this will too. And if you work in the office and you’re reading this you should be ashamed."

"I do not recommend living here. When I first moved in maintenance did not give any notice before entering my apartment to install a new stove. They stole $400 from me and the office did nothing about it. The neighborhoods were really nosy and weird. I had maggots and had no clue where it came from because the apartment was clean. they paint over everything Which makes it hard to hang up any decor because the paint comes right off. They will charge you for each room there is paint missing from the wall. I have every reason to believe they did this on purpose to keep the deposit. They also over charged me for things Idid not due to keep my deposit. Carol who is a lady in the office with horrible makeup has lied to me on a few occasions. DO NOT move here because it is a big scam."

"Sycamore Square looks like nice apartments but have a lot of issues. First, the staff is unfriendly and will do the bare minimum to help. The maintenance techs do a job halfway then close your work order. The apartments have the perfect environment for mold growth and when we had maintenance come check it out they just told us to get a dehumidifier and that was it. The photos I posted are from behind my couch that I didn’t think to move while I lived there. Truly disgusting. The move out took the cake with us getting charged for the stupidest and smallest stuff…. I work in property management and I know for a fact the stuff they charged for they will not replace. If you need a cheap place to live it’s good for that but you truly get what you pay for."

"Where to start...... the kitchen and bathroom are in a desperate need of being refurbished. They date back to the 70s and haven’t been touched since. Old and dirty. The new windows do not help with the build up of condensation that happens all the time. You get mold in the winter time. There is not much you can do about it apart from trying to get a dehumidifier but that doesn’t do much good. The blinds are not put up properly and always full down even we being careful with them. The apartments desperately need whole house air conditioning. The single unit they have in them are really noisy and only cool down one part of the room. That leaves you with sweltering hot bedrooms that are not comfortable to sleep in. There are holes everywhere in floorboards for mice to get into the apartments. Even though these apartments are really cheap you’re honestly better off staying away and paying a bit more to live in a comfortable environment."
