Ithaca of South Beach Hotel

"DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I booked this place through Airbnb and NOTHING was as advertised. We came straight from the airport and spent 30 minutes trying to find where we were going because the entrance is small and easy to miss. It is located above a beachwear store and liquor store which all have the exact same address which also made things confusing. We tried calling the number provided and couldn’t get connected to anyone and the voicemail box was full. When we finally figured out where we were going, the only people there were members of the cleaning crew. When we got to the room, the first thing I noticed was tape on the door above the handle covering HOLES. We walk in the room and there’s more tape on the inside of the door. Then we go to the bed….covered in someone else’s hair. Stains on the bedroom walls, curtains and cabinets. Disgustingly dirty bathroom. I could go on and on. We spent one night here and have since paid for a new hotel and are requesting a full refund. The only redeeming quality about this place is that it is very close to the beach. Do not recommend this place."

"I booked through Airbnb and this place is horrible! I’m assuming all the bad reviews or at least most gets delete because there is no way it has such high ratings. There is no elevator so you have to climb a flight of 20 stairs. The place upon walking in was not clean. The staff I will say was very friendly and accommodating. Upon entering the newly cleaned room I first noticed the sitting chair was peeling and full of stains to the point no one will sit in it. The rest of the furniture looked like it had been badly used and abused but was clean. Not even 20 seconds later I was greated by a roach. Roaches and bedbugs are something I just cannot do. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe it came from the last person staying in the room. 10 seconds later I spotted another one and I left and went to another hotel. If you’re fine with the roaches then by all means stay but I just won’t do it."

"During my stay at Ithaca, the hotel was very clean and the layout was nice. The room was spacious, airy and also clean; nothing spectacular but worth the price you pay for. Access to the beach is great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel as well book again."

"Great location. Clean room. Good price. Noisy hotel. The description says they don't allow parties after 11 but music bumped incessantly all night. Loud voices, yelling, swearing, laughing. Sleep is pretty tough. The problem is there's no one to go to if there is any issue at all. I had trouble with my door code. No one is there. You have to call the number and get routed to someone that can help you. Not super user friendly place to stay."

"I read the reviews AFTER I booked. I even call to cancel after reading them but it was to late. I didn’t have a problem with getting in contact with anyone. This hotel isn’t bad at all. There isn’t anyone in the hotel working besides the cleaning crew. Communication is between email and text. No, the elevator don’t work but I didn’t find it a problem. You don’t have to go up many stairs you will be fine. I do not recommend having a car. You will not have a park. The room was very clean and roomy. The location is perfect. Give it a try. I will definitely be back."
