"This experience felt like I was catfished. The website and photos make this hotel seem so beautiful but when we checked in we got this dingy old room with ripped chairs and a broken toilet that would not flush. There was also a strong odor to the room and everything was so old and uncomfortable. The only good things were the restaurant and the rooftop pool amenity. The beach amenities were pretty bad and uncomfortable as well. The best part was probably the service, our cleaning service was well done, they fixed the toilet when it kept breaking down and communicated well. The hotel itself was a disappointment. Also the location is very far from typical South Beach activities."

"Stayed here with my girlfriend and have to say it’s way better than expected. Half of these reviews scared me but the location was great, restaurants was there, rooftop bar plus pool and 24/7 fitness center, was amazing. I will say the room is small and did have strong paint smell that we got used to. The way to check in is weird but it’s not bad. The hotel is connected to the boulan and there’s two way to enter sbh hotel through The back and front and it’s very accessible. The back is like an alley buts it not bad and the front is just your standard way of getting into a hotel. I will say it’s old and could use and update but that’s how hotels are and you never going to get it the ideal way you want it. I would 100% stay there again if the price is right. Always book through the hotel not the 3rd party apps. Last thing the mini bar does suck it’s super expensive for basic stuff. 55 for Tito’s and 65 for the tequila bottle and the rest of the stuff was 6 bucks or more for each item. Other than that had a great experience"

"Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT book this hotel! I could write forever about how horrible it was, but I’ll sum it up to it is nothing at all compared to what it shows on their website in the photos. It’s not just that it’s not “nice”, but it is truly disgusting and unsanitary. We were offered 3 different rooms to try and make up for how unhappy we were with our room but every room was equally as bad. Stained bed, ripped sheets, dirty stained floors, AC didn’t work, tv didn’t work, no electrical outlet covers and we have 2 little kids. Leaky faucets and moldy showers, the list truly goes on. We booked 5 rooms with our family here and all of the rooms were truly disgusting. The front desk lady was so rude and acted like we were crazy when we complained. We told them right away we didn’t want to stay anymore after seeing the room and they wouldn’t give us a refund. Save yourselves. See pics below, they were from our room."

"My team and I travel around the world on business and this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. I changed rooms 3 times as the AC was very poor and actually stopped working. The room was 76 degrees by morning. Being from Canada, it's hard enough dealing with the Florida heat, but when on business, it's even harder. I had to purchase a $700 portable air conditioner just to be able to get ready in the mornings. We had booked 5 rooms, but unfortunately one team member wasn't able to make it. We did we not get any kind of refund for the 5 days AND they charged us the $40 per day resort fee although the room was never used. We asked to speak to a manager, even emailed the manager, but never got a response. The walls are like paper so you can hear everything from the next rooms and the upstairs. Every night there was either fighting on the Street outside my first floor room, or someone either drunk or on drugs yelling for 30 minutes at 4am immediately outside my window. I hardly slept for 5 nights. I have never left a negative review of either a hotel or a restaurant in all my years of travel to 55 countries, but I felt this needed a review."

"Do not stay here. They are way overpriced for how rundown the hotel is. First, we paid extra for early check in for 2 of the rooms and booked our flights based on the early check in time. When we got there we were informed that there were no rooms available for early check in and they don’t know why we were allowed to book it. The receptionist was very nonchalant about it. So we just had to wait around for hours, with kids. I understand its subject to availability but if you allow someone to pay for it, one assumes that the service is available. South Beach hotel is combined or managed by the same people as Boulan Hotel. When we finally got our room keys, we walked around searching for our room then we were informed that they were in the building next door. We had a total of 4 rooms and they were all awful. The room I stayed in had stains on the bed frame, peeling toilet seat, moldy shower and stained mattress on the pull out bed. My sisters could not shower in their room because the shower wouldn’t drain. We informed the front desk about this and they said they would fix it the first day, they never fixed it until the last day after it was no longer needed. They had to shower in our room every day. This same room had bed bugs! It was truly disgusting. If you want ice, you have to go next door to the front desk to get it which means after they close you’re out of luck. No microwaves. The rooms are stuffy with no ventilation. They are outdated. The only positive thing about this hotel is the location but there are several others in close proximity for you to choose from. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone."
