Strand Ocean Drive Suites

"It’s hard to give a review on this one. We knew it was going to be small, we knew it was going to be in the heart of South Beach next to a loud nightclub, and reading reviews AFTER we booked was not smart, because it gave me a feeling of dread. Sooooo many negative reviews, however, in the end, it was an OK place to stay. We used earplugs and our white noise machine which helped with the loud music late into the night. We actually slept surprisingly well. The apartment was clean and smelled good (that was a biggie to me!), and we had all the amenities we needed. The photos they posted on the VRBO site were definitely taken with a wide angled lens- it’s a small place and I could never see four people staying there. One thing that was missing that would’ve helped would’ve been a small dresser with drawers (I suggest under the TV in the kitchen) because we had to use the sofa to put our suitcases on. Besides hanging some things in the closet, the rest had to stay in our suitcases for the week. The other thing that would’ve helped would’ve been some more hooks/knobs on the walls to hang towels. We knew that our patio doors looked right at the building next to us, and that there really was no balcony that you could sit on. We really missed that. But the rooftop pool next-door was awesome! We used it almost every day, and were surprised at how few people were up there. We always got a lounge chair, and there were only seven of them. The TV in the bedroom had three remote controls, and none of them worked. But it wasn’t the end of the world. The TV in the kitchen worked, but we would’ve had to sit on the hard chairs at the kitchen table, since the sofa had all our luggage on it. The location is awesome in terms of walking to the beach and to all of the restaurants and even to the pharmacy and grocery store. We didn’t have to rent a car for the whole week. And we lucked out with pretty good weather. We were in apartment 306B. They say the check-in desk is at the front of the building next-door, but I really think they should state that it’s between the two buildings on the side, towards the back. In the end, if we had to do it again, we would definitely take a place one street over, further away from the noise, get a place with a balcony/patio, and definitely do a hotel or a single owner rental, rather than through a management company. It was still all good."

"We were only here for a night as we were going on a cruise the following day. I ordered a room with a partial ocean view. The view wasn’t bad, but our balcony was right by the AC units, which were very loud and made the balcony not very enjoyable. The bar below was loud, but was expected as we were right above it. It did quiet down at a decent time so it was no bother to us. But if you’re looking for something quiet and laid back, this isn’t your place. If you’re looking to have a great time and party, this is your place. The location is near everything you could want and need."

"I'm NOT sure what the other bad reviews are for but , this is a GREAT place to stay . Rob helped me book it & even after confusion he was very kind and honest. Sure the music is pretty loud but your on OCEANDRIVE south beach and Rob definitely let's you know of the location as well! .honestly when you are inside it's not that bad at all and I'm staying an in ocean front room directly above Palace . The desk staff are VERY kind as well . I haven't had any issues, room is clean , towels and everything is stocked and the a/c works fine . I'm VERY happy staying here ! And as some one from Miami, I reccomend this place if you want to see what the night life and famous areas are like ! Can't beat the price or service !"

"The room was great but the table was shaking all night from the loud music down stairs. The pool was very small and there was lots of people up there and you can’t hear your own thoughts because of the music. Then I got dance on by a man and I am not gay I was a little fun but my family did not like it. Also There was honey buns being thrown from the rooftop they where very hot. Rob you are a real one and I love you."

"The room was very nice although it was loud until 2 am every night and the pool on the roof was so loud you could not hear your own thoughts, also while sitting on my balcony I was struck in the head by a steaming honey bun. The desk guy was really chill and rob is a real one."
