Westover Arms Hotel

"Large and spacious room with a kitchen complete with full sized appliances (microwave, refrigerator, range). Tiled floors and large walk-in shower. I didn't have any issues with cleanliness and room was well stocked with toilet paper and even paper towels. Windows open if you like fresh air. Room did smell like there was a smoker in it before me, but the smell went away pretty quick after running the AC and cracking a window. Great location, away from the hustle and hustle of South Beach, but still a quick bus ride away."

"There were no chairs in the room. When I requested one, I was told 'no', with no explanation. There isn't an excuse for this at over $150 a night. If you like to be ignored and treated like an interloper, then stay here. We'll not give them any more business."

"We recently stayed here before a cruise and other then the location and proximity to the beach and other activities (including public transportation) our stay was less then ideal. Upon check in we went to our room and the musty smell was overwhelming. We immediately opened the windows (thankfully they opened a lot) and turned on the fan to air out the room then left to let the room we plans for the afternoon. After returning to the hotel later that night there was no security around (when we felt there should have been) even though security was present during the day both days. Thankfully our room didn’t smell as bad after all of those hours of the windows being opened with the fan on. The next morning we had planned to go to the beach for a few hours first thing in the morning before our cruise and asked to use the included beach chair tickets for the few hours. We were told these were not allowed to be used on check out day. We explained that this had not been told to us the day before at check in and asked for an exception to be made for the 2-3 hours we had to kill and since we only had a 1 day stay. The woman working the front desk was kind and understanding but needed to ask the manager. The manager on duty was not willing to listen to us and kept saying that was “hotel policy” and he was not able to help us. This person said he would ask his manager and disappeared for 15+ minutes. When he returned he said there were no exceptions. I asked to please speak to his manager so I could explain that this “policy” had not been told to us the day before when checking in or we would have changed our plans. He would not get his manager involved at this point. We left the hotel frustrated with the lack of customer service or resolution management possible at the hotel. Needless to say between the extremely musty smelling room and the rest of what transpired, we will not be returning the this hotel."

"Reasonable priced hotel at a fantastic location. There is no pool or fancy amenities, but Miami Beach is very expensive, so if you are traveling on a budget this place is great. It has laundry in the room which is great if you are traveling with kids, a full size kitchen and a comfortable bed. We didn't try the sofa bed. The rooms and halls were clean, with no weird smells. There is a bar onsite and a small marketplace. Beach towels, chairs and umbrella also included."
