Garnet Inn & Suites, Orlando

"Communication is awful. It is nearly impossible to call the front desk. I booked a night at Garnet Inn & Suites weeks before we needed to be there. I called multiple times, different numbers, and some of the numbers were not not working. About a week out, we didn't know if we would have a place to stay for the night. That was pretty frustrating. But, I kept at it and finally got through to somebody. She said I had to email her my confirmation. I did. She responds kindly and tells me that we were "upgraded." Not sure why... I am not a "Karen." I just wanted to make sure we had a place to stay. Long story short - we had 2 rooms that connected to each other by a door that looked like somebody had punched through it and somebody tried to patch it up. There were only 2 of us. We did not need 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms. None of the locks on the doorknobs worked - they were all flimsy/falling off. The door between the 2 rooms wouldn't close. There were cockroaches in one of the bathrooms. It is more like a hostel than a hotel. It could be a beautiful place if the owners actually cared."

"Disgusting, rude, nasty, Spanish women at front desk in the morning or AM shift that have absolutely no sense of hospitality, customer service experience or have ever worked in any kind of hotel, motel or lodging where guests should be respected. One manager admitted that they are rude and useless to guests but won't replace them with caring, respectful or knowledgeable staff that understand the hospitality and hotel lodging industry. Definitely not Disney, Universal Studios, Sea World or a vacation type mentality for guests visiting and paying their daily wage to do simple things that do not require a college degree. Fire them! They hate people, they hate working there and they ruin your reviews, reputation and your business."

"GREAT PLACE to stay at. Very reasonable price $58US. Stayed there as had to go to airport the next day and not far. Very friendly and professional. Dog friendly (yes, there is a cost of $25, but overall price pretty much equaled our last hotel stay at Hometown studios for $75 and that one kept our security deposit of $50!! (no reason, legal action being taken). No problem with that at Garnet Inn & Suites! Did my laundry too and yes, they offer breakfast and are very well organized. They even have a pool (clean too!). Will definitely stay there next year!!!"

"We stayed there for three nights. Our experience was not a good one at all. We understand that this is not a five star hotel. Even though this is a budget hotel it should provide guests with basic human needs. There were few issues on our room. There was no hair dryer in the room and when we inform this patient one representative told he is too busy. Another customer representative told she is aware about the situation and will look at it but never heard back. Most inconvenient thing is toilet water is not flush and it fill up. It was almost gonna overflow. This was so easy so inconvenient as my wife and me stay together. When someone wants to use the washroom immediately after me it is not pleasant at all. When we inform this to customer service representatives, we heard the same story saying they are too busy and provided with plunger. However on the very last day we got a room replacement by begging them. The not positive thing is there is good breakfast and location is convenient."

"Budget-oriented lodging. Very close proximity to the MCO airport ~15 minutes drive. Strong cleaning product smell throughout the building. Charges for parking. My room had floor with dirt/grit - was not fully cleaned. The toilets had scuff marking and there are water stains in the bathtub’s wall. Towels were not clean as well — cleaners should replace them with new ones. They were off-white color. Customer service was good and accommodating. There is no elevators in this building (for those that have rooms on the second floor). Spacious parking. It’s not a 3 star hotel…as google review recommends."
