Tru by Hilton Orlando Convention Center Area

"We came in for a volleyball tournament and we’re here a week. If it wasn’t a stay her play here tournament we would have checked out the first night!! It was a pretty location with quick access to the convention center but that all the positives about it. We had no hot water for 3 out of 5 days. We were told they were fixing it. Room service did not replace the tissue box they just took some tissues from a different box and shoved it in previous box. We were left 2 bath towels but no rags or hand towels. Room full of girls so we ran out of shampoo and it was never replaced so we had to go down and ask for it. This location does not have any where to do laundry so they told us to show our room key and the hotel across the street and they normally let guests from here use theirs. Parking is a JOKE!! They charge $15-$20 a day for parking but there is no parking for you! Teams were having to park across the street and run over. Trucks were parking in the grass and sideways blocking spots. Complete joke! Save your money and just Uber or Lyft!! There are no dressers or closets, which not a huge deal but still inconvenient when staying a week. Most of the staff were nice and friendly but a handful of staff were rude and irritated we needed to ask for things and were voicing our frustrations! In all, if you’re coming in for an overnight it works! If staying multiple days find somewhere else!! USA Volleyball, please don’t make us stay here again!!"

"Overall the hotel was nice. Always had coffee, tea, and hot water available in the lobby. Free breakfast is standard hotel free breakfast. Lobby also has small bar, pool table,Foosball, and board games. Lobby was crowded with all of those things. The room was very small. No closet or dresser. The two queen beds took up all the space. Room size is good for one person, too crowded for two or more people (there were 3 of us). If only staying for a night or two for a convention it's great, because you can walk to the convention center."

"This hotel is really nice for the price and very clean. We mainly stayed here for the continental breakfast, but pancakes/waffles were not available for our stay. Also every morning, while eating breakfast, someone will try to sell you a timeshare and I’ve been getting weekly phone calls ever since asking the same. I really want to like this hotel, but not really worth it for someone to keep selling a timeshare unit."

"Tru is typically super nice and my hotel of choice. This location in the past has been nice. However, I did kill a roach in my bathroom on my third night. Maintenance was sent up to spray “Hot Shot” Roach & Ant killer. Anyone knows that Hot Shot is cheap and does not get the job done most of the time. That same night two additional roaches were killed in the room. Not one front desk staff member asked me if I wanted to switch rooms they all just said “sorry.” I myself had to request a room switch. The manager did come the following morning to the new room to apologize and offered to redeem Hilton Honors Points for one night only. I asked three different staff members how often do they have pest control spray and I was given three different answers from each individual. This is important information that all personal staff should be aware of. As a frequent traveler and diamond member, I am very disappointed in how this situation was handled. One night worth of point redemption is not worth these nasty pest. I will not be back to this location. And will make sure those that I know who travel to the area do not stay here either. And the shower water reaks of a sewage smell!!! Horrific."

"Great staff and clean common area. Ice machine on 2nd floor needs to be flushed and cleaned. We got green ice. Looked like moldy ice, but I didn't know ice could mold. New concept is nice, but a bit cramped. Difficult to get the hand soap out of the dispenser, but shower dispensers were easier to squeeze. Found hair in sink and on bathroom floor upon check-in, but rest of room seemed to have been cleaned. Fridge, but no microwave in room. Accessible microwaves at pantry area in lobby. Beer, wine and quick snacks available at pantry. Also a decent sized bar for a nightcap. Breakfast wasn't bad and there's good coffee, tea and cocoa 24hrs. Would stay again."
