Monterey Motel

"No Wi-Fi, sand loaded down in the pull out bed so we didn’t want to pull it out to dump in the floor. The couch was too uncomfortable to sit on it was so old. I observed four different sized of cockroaches but only managed to kill one of them. I believe I was bitten by a spider at night & developed cellulitis from that. The bed was not comfortable at all. Pillows were flat & had to get more & no one was there so we helped ourselves. I messaged the contact to also let them know I borrowed a bowl & had to bring cookware from home. The curtains were updated, the bathroom was painted & shower head risen higher than the last time we stayed. There was an older man below us with the TV volume LOUD Friday night but we were loud watching our ballgames on Saturday. People lived there & we offered one guy beers both nights & he was drooling over our grill Saturday. We had to hurry & get upstairs with our food before he came back, we only brought enough for us. Overpriced for the stay, particularly after Labor Day."

"We came in yesterday for 3 days and they have been nothing but nice. Rooms are older but in good shape, Pool is great and short walk to beach. Can't beat the customer service. Will return"

"I had the absolute worst time here! I will absolutely not stay here again. When we first moved in while turning on the A/C, it stunk of mold, and i didnt want my pregnant girlfriend breathing that in. When asking for a new A/C unit, I got nothing but attitude from tracy. The stove, when you turned on one knob, 2 burners turned on. The oven only worked on broil, and only the top burner turned on. The bathroom is tiny. Both hot and cold water knobs in the shower leak. The bathroom sink only had cold water. Not to mention my pregnant girlfriend got bit by cockroach's. They took half my dog deposit for damages that were there when we moved in. Damages that weren't caused by an animal. My dog is a 5 pound chihuahua at that. No fire or carbon monoxide detectors. Also, 4 doors down, a father and son were staying. They were heavy drinkers, and the son stabbed the father 7 times! I've never left a bad review before, but I need to warn people about staying here."

"My family and I absolutely loved and adored this hotel. The people that run this hotel go above and beyond, to make the customers comfortable and happy. We stayed in room 10, and we were ecstatic, that we could see the ocean and the sunsets, from the balcony. They allow pets! There is a beach entrance right by the property, and there is also a swimming pool. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were very clean, and there was a full kitchen, with everything we needed, including a coffee maker and a full size refrigerator. The room also included a sofa, a table and chairs, and a television. The bathroom shower curtain was a bit odd, but functional. I like that this place is very laid-back. There wasn't a lot of car or foot traffic, or other people everywhere. It was nice and quiet and no loud bars, parties, or annoying beach goers. If you are a stuck up yuppie, this is definitely not the place for you. If you are a laid-back person, like me, who has backpacked around the globe, you will appreciate this hotel. It's nothing new and fancy, but definitely has everything you need, to have an awesome, comfortable, and memorable vacation. If I could give more stars, I would. Thank you, for having us!"

"Loved this place! The people that clean the motel was wonderful. Anything we needed they didn't mind getting it for us. Only bad thing about it is that you have to turn on 2 eyes to make one work and the oven didn't work only broil did, but other than that, this place was amazing and it was just a walk across the road beach access. Big pool also that my kids and I enjoyed. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!! Great people and place and beach view! ❤️"
