Dr. Ghany's journey to becoming a hand surgeon began with a degree in Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union in New York City. His interest in orthopedic surgery was sparked by a mentor who was both an engineer and an orthopedic surgeon. He went on to complete his medical training at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center and his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
Specializing in hand to elbow disorders, Dr. Ghany offers treatment for injuries, arthritic conditions, wrist pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome. He is skilled in endoscopic carpal tunnel releases, wrist arthroscopy with TFCC repairs, and repairing fractures and tendon injuries from the elbows to the fingertips. Additionally, he is trained in microsurgical techniques for nerve injuries and arthroplasty of the hand, wrist, and elbow for arthritic conditions.
Outside of work, Dr. Ghany enjoys spending time with his family, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying outdoor activities like snorkeling and kayaking. "I have three words for this doctors office: wait, wait, wait. I had a 9 AM appointment I wasn’t taken in to the inner offices until after 1030 then I sat around and waited for the doctor. Then he told me he needed to get some x-rays so I sat and waited and waited for that to happen, so he may be a very good doctor, but his staff is not very organized"
