"I was a patient with Dr. Leiva (who was great) and I had scheduled a procedure a few months out. Everything seemed fine for a while. I had bloodwork and other tests done a few months ago, but I never got information on my results. They are not even on my Baycare patient portal. I am a full time student with a part time job, so maybe I should have been more diligent about getting answers, but I am busy so often and every time I called the office it was like getting transferred from extension to extension and/or a very long hold. Today I called to get more information about the procedure and to schedule a follow up appointment for two weeks after, and I was FINALLY informed that Dr. Leiva had left the practice (I am still appalled that no one tried to inform me of this). I asked who would be doing my procedure and they told me that a male doctor would be performing it, which I am extremely uncomfortable with. The surgical scheduler was kind and offered a later appointment with a female doctor, but there is no gastro that I have established a relationship with there anymore so I'm not comfortable with that either. I am worried I will never hear the results of my tests, and I don't even want to try this practice again because of how little they care to communicate with patients. The doctors might be good, but BayCare patient communication is abysmal."

"Although my initial interaction with this location was rough, office manager Raquel stepped in and helped me promptly. It only did she put my health concerns as her priority she followed up with me giving me a phone call to ensure all was good on my end. Customer service is a huge factor especially in the medical field, this manager was stellar and took my concerns into account and truly made me feel important and not just a number. I am grateful for her service and care she will bring to this location."

"Dr. Matier's lack of communication is unprofessional at best, bordering on malpractice. I could not get a single message or call back from him throughout the entire duration of my patient experience. Multiple messages through the patient portal completely ignored along multiple phone calls where the office staff brushed me off and told me he would "get back to me when he could." The call back never happened. I've since been left to my own devices as a lay person to interpret pathology results through internet research, which is all way over my head. The worst part of the whole ordeal is, as a result of the rectal exam under anesthesia that Dr. Matier performed, I am now in incredible pain and far worse shape than I was when I went in, only for him to tell me that "he didn't see anything abnormal" after the procedure where we waited for 20+ minutes for him to follow up with us. I believe he would not have even paid us the "courtesy" of a post-op visit had we not asked the nurse to reach out to him. The complete lack of any level of follow up care/consultation has left me with a feeling of abandonment and the impression that Dr. Matier could not care less about me as a person, much less a patient. Further more, it seriously makes me wonder who this person really is, and what his motives are for entering the field of medicine/healthcare in the first place."

"GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR HEALTHCARE NEEDS I would give them 0 stars if I could, as BayCare Medical Group's patient servicing is horrendous. Absolutely horrendous. I've been trying to get a prescription refilled for a week and haven't been able to contact anyone at BayCare Gastroenterology. My pharmacy has been sending multiple refill requests to the practice, no response. I try to call, and only get a message asking the pharmacy to send a request... Yet nobody from the practice responds to the request. Does that make sense to you? It doesn't to me! I have no idea what goes on over there, and am constantly disgruntled and unencouraged by the employees at their facilities. When it comes to medication refills, you would imagine that somebody would at very least respond to the pharmacy request, or get in contact with you to facilitate the refill. Guess not! Nobody is EVER available to talk, their phone system is all automated making it IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with someone. Their organization needs to fix their 3rd party protocols and communication channels BADLY."

"My wife had an appt for today, Thursday 1/9/20, and when I called to confirm the time, they said they had cancelled the appt and called me on Monday. There is no incoming call on my phone log or voicemail on that day. There is an automated voicemail from them yesterday confirming the appt for 1/9/20. They would not get us in with any other doctor even though I took off work for this appt and said the next appt they could give us was in MARCH. I’ll never go back."
