"During my tenure at Clayton State (2019-2022), I have had the pleasure of residing in the apartment-style rooms in Laker Village. I enjoyed having my own bathroom in the room and the idea of having a stove in the kitchen. It made it feel as if I was at home. It definitely gave a home type of vibe. I will say the only thing that can be improved is the response time for maintenance. Other than that, Laker Village is a decent place to stay during your time at Clayton State."

"Housing is a disaster in Clayton State University. For starters they give you the room dirty and take no responsibility even though it’s them renting it to you, I don’t care how the last student left it, I should get it in excellent condition. But then they go ahead and threaten on having pay fees if you don’t leave the room in excellent condition. The student staff that attend you is cool, but supervisors and managers are rude and inefficient. They tried to double charge me 3 times, I understand the first time can be a mistake, the second and third I ‘m thinking it is on purpose or they the stupidest people on earth. I got my bathroom covered in mold on my second semester and decided to start online. That same semester my apartment flooded twice. They put us back on our flooded apartment and said they were gonna fix the walls, ceiling and appliances that stoped working took 3 months and had to go complain to student affairs so that they would fix it. I am an international student that come from a very poor country and some of the stuff that I’ve seen in laker village are terrible, staying in my home county would have been better than having come to laker village. My last semester had to go back to in person, I applied and payed to live at laker village, which has better apartments (with kitchen, washer, dryer, stove, oven and private bathroom) they put me on a temporary apartment in laker hall ( no washer, no dryer, no stove, no oven, shared bathroom) when they changed me to laker village they gave me the key to a room that had another student in it, and had to change me back to laker hall. When I asked to get changed to laker village again to an empty room they said I had to wait and that I could not complain because even though both rooms have different amenities they cost the same. The semester finished and I was still in laker hall with none of the amenities. I don’t care how much it cost I want the services that I was offered, that I applied to and that a payed for."

"Do NOT waste your money to live here. You’d be better off attending school here and getting an apartment . Majority of the housing staff is SO nonchalant and inefficient. If you need your packages on time , you definitely shouldn’t live here. The packages get delivered and they want you to wait until they “put it in their system” to pick it up. Knowing them , who knows how long it’ll take. They send petty , unprofessional emails. My RA , who i had to room with , unfortunately was extremely loud and inconsiderate of others. (Washing dishes and banging pots together at 3 AM, screaming on the phone in the kitchen at night , sitting in the kitchen all day and night, leaving food everywhere in the kitchen, going into my room while I’m in the bathroom) Also something is always broken or wrong here and the housing staff will either fail to notify you or wait until the last minute. There lots of Gnats and trash everywhere. Not to mention there have been several auto thefts and armed robberies. Needless to say, this will be my last semester here"

"From the Fall of 2014 to the Spring of 2015, Apt. Building 200 in Laker village was heaven to me. That is where the most spontaneous, fun, romantic and happy memories in my life happened visiting someone that was special and amazing in my eyes. As far as the rooming, i was only a guest but the only issue was the carpets were so thin, that when you fell, it felt like you fell on concrete. When my friend needed information or assistance, the front office was subpar and pretty much didn't help her while the RA had no clue whatsoever."

"The students and staff who work in the housing office at Clayton Station never answer emails or calls. The service is somewhat okay, but no one knows what be going on. Some of the people there act like they dont have any common sense. Everytime I go in there, no one is actually working. They're just socializing. Everything could just be better. This whole summer I have been emailing housing regarding the apt that I will be in and no one has yet to reply to the emails so I just finally gave up. If I could stay off campus somewhere I would. I just have one final thing to say. Do better!"
