Columbia Creek Apartments

"I've lived here for about 4 1/2 years now and up untill recently I had nothing but good things to say about this property; however... About 18 months ago we underwent several changes in management with our current office staff being the worst yet. They are incapable of taking notes, incredibly impersonal, they dont listen to concerns or answer questions. Often times the same person in the office will call multiple days in a row asking the same questions and then forget the next day. I've lived here for over 4 years and i was denied access to the office fax machine because I left my ID at home and couldnt prove I lived here, The office staff has the memory of a small child and the clerical skills of a mentally deficient monkey. They dont do any work unless it involves getting somebody new to move in and then as soon as the papers are signed they forget you exist. They will even put off renewing your lease for up to 10 months (like they did to us). I have never dealt with a more unprofessional, unknowledgeable, untalented, unintelligent and impolite group of people in a professional setting in my life. The apartments arent high quality and often times instead of fixing problems, they problems are just covered up for the next tenants to discover. The pool is often crowded by unattended children from neighboring areas and is far from relaxing but thats only if the pool is opened on time which is very rare. Last summer the pool was only open for about a month. The buildings often have faulty fire alarms which results in the fire department showing up at 3am and doing door to door checks. there are even some more serious issues such as sewage flowing directly into the breezeway as was the case last week, it took 2 days for somebody to remove the human waste from outside peoples front doors. Also, the community trash compactor bill is often not paid on time so the trashbags spill out of the compactor and sometimes reach onto the street at a depth of 6-8 feet, that just adds to the smell of the sewage treatment plant about 200 yards upwind of the complex. The only good thing I can say about living here is 2 guys that are in charge of maintaining the property are super friendly, they do thier jobs not only well but with a great attitude and are the hardest working people employed at this complex, they struggle to pick up all the slack left to them by the office staff but do their best to make living here as comfortable and enjoyable as possible...if only the people in charge had the same attitude. If you are thinking about moving here, think again. I'm getting out as soon as my lease allows and im upset with myself for being allowed to be tricked into signing it in november of '09 when it expired in june of '09, the office staff had me date the lease paperwork retroactively so it wouldn't look like they had slacked as much as they did....Once again, Renters BEWARE!"

"I have been living here for the past four years, going on five. I can't say anything wrong about this wonderful place. It is true that Shirley is a little "cranky" sometimes but, you know, so am I, so are you, you, and you, jajaja. People, lets don't forget how good we have it here, this apts. are great! they are very clean and spacious, I used to live at some other apts. here in Woodstock and didn't last but a year, I had creatures coming up the sink in the masters bedroom, scare the crap out of me jajaja, there were roaches on the ceiling, the kitchen, the living room, just about every where. I am thankful to this place because I have a little extra $$$$ to treat myself sometimes. I guess if this apartments were at the same current market price around they would have enough to take care of the trash bin or have two swimming pools instead of one, I don't know. yes, we have the best maintenance guys on campus, thank you very much! they are reliable, knowledgeable, humble, friendly, ready to help at any time. so neighbors, let us think that our "jar" is half full, not half empty, please. Let us spread the "love" and help each other. "What Would Jesus do?" Cheers!"

"I lived at Columbia Creek for about 6 months. Not the best place to live. Maintenance staff was wonderful. Shirley Stacey in the office is the rudest person I have ever met. Why they continue to keep this woman, I will never understand. I moved out and 3 weeks later I receive a letter from a collection agency that I owe $51.00 for my water bill. I had only been out of the apartment for 3 weeks. Thats 15 days and I am turned over to collections? I have placed a call to the office, which almost always goes to a machine. Can't wait to see what Ms. Stacey has to say about this!!!"

"This is a very nice property! It is located close to downtown woodstock. The apartments and property are very clean and tidy. I have been visiting my girlfriend here at her apartment home for a year and a half. I would caution any new tenants from moving in if it still has the same management I have experienced. The maintanence and grounds staff are helpful and pleaseant. The problem is with the office. From our experience they are the rudest staff I have encountered in any business. From the get go they ignore you and treat you with great disrespect. Instead of helping you questions or concerns they lie to you and tell you they dont have a manager. Really,..... I business with no manager, wow. I have witnessed a other nieghbor tenants complain for over a month about problems to an apathetic property managment team. The problems seem to source from a person in the office named Shirely. Very very rude and ineffective if you need even the smallest little thing. Every time you communicate a concern they threaten to fine you for an unrelated topic instead of listening to their customers. If you live here and have a complaint or even a small service issue I would reccommend going to the BBB. This seems to be the route that gets you service. Save your self the frustraition, pain, and weeks worth of useless toil talking to a useless hateful office staff! This is a Great Property it deserves a office team that mirrors it instead of making it a nightmare."

"I lived in this complex for about 5 months. I moved in May 2012 and had no problems until September 2012 when I came home and there had been a water leak in my living which spread all the way across the ceiling into the kitchen and the whole kitchen floor was wet.Part of the sheetrock had fallen off the ceiling as well. I had my 19 month old son with me and before I knew it he fell onto the kitchen floor and hit his head. He is ok, but the issue at hand is that I called the Maint. man to come out and check it out and fix the problem. Well he came out and cleaned up the water in the kitchen and placed a fan in the living room to dry the water on the carpet. I called the office the following day and let them know of the issues. I was told the issue would be fixed at the end of the week, well it wasnt. For about 3 weeks I had to call the office everyday to get an update of what was going on and when it would be fixed and I was never given an answer just the run around. So i finally took matters into my own hands and called corp. Still nothing was done. Finally after about a week dealing with corp I sent an email to the BBB and magically half of the issues were fixed. I finally had had enough and told the complex and corp I wanted out of my lease with no fines . I was granted my wish and the day came for me to sign the papers and I was told I would be charged for any type of damages to the apt and bc animals has set foot inside my apt I would be charged with a pet deposit. I was told the damages that occured in the apt would be taken care of by the manager that now doesnt work there and they couldnt take her word. The employee " SHIRLEY STACY" is the rudest person I have ever had to deal with, She gave me the hardest time about moving into the apts to begin with and that should have been my sign there but I looked passed it, You cant tell her anything and she is always the one that is right. She doesnt care about the tentents that live at the complex and doesnt care what anyone has to say and doesnt care about any problems there either. So i warn you do not move to this complex. If you want a complex that is going to take care of you and your family and your needs when they need to be met then I would look else where because this is the worst complex to live in!!"
