"Hallways have a constant smell of smoke, rooms are dirty and poorly cleaned, we found a used condom in ours. The front desk staff was nice, but the hotel itself was a disaster. We left rather than stay with our son."
"Was immediately skeeved out a little upon arrival and needing to be buzzed in. But the lady at the desk was nice and helpful and check in was smooth. The place and the room were generally clean. In the room though, they seem a bit indifferent to maintenance and upkeep. A lot of "good enough" implementations and repairs. Things painted over, wall patched with laminate wood panel, fixtures falling out... Sink was a bit slow to drain and the hot water in the shower took a while to show up, but everything generally worked fine. My only real complaints were the positioning of the sink right next to a wall on the right(which had me elbowing the door frame while trying to brush my teeth), and there was some component of an exhaust fan in the ceiling coming loose and rattling really loudly. With it being on the same switch as the light, I couldn't avoid having it on while I was in there. Convenient location, 7-Eleven across the street for most of your travel needs."
"I've stayed here A bunch of times. The place is a dump. Is it the worst hotel in the area? A lot of people say that, but they clearly have never stayed at the Red roof inn. Literally all the budget motels around RIT are dumps. So if you don't want to stay in a dump when visiting RIT, get ready to spend over $300/night."
"This place should be closed for renos and full disinfection.There are cockroaches crawling on the walls of the rooms and halls. Bathtub floor was black with dirt,don't even open the microwave our was disgusting, mini fridge had human hairs inside, sheets, comforter, towels were full of stains, this place need management attention/audit ASAP. I had used Choice Hotels in the past, and I had great experience, unfortunately not at this location.STAY AWAY even if they give you a free night."
