"Mattress visibly sagged in the middle. Adequate, but not really comfortable. Room was otherwise quite nice. Restaurant and front desk staff were very friendly and personable."

"This was my first time staying at this hotel and I have to say I was impressed. A really good price for a nice room. It was quiet and had lots of parking. Easy walk to SU campus and other dining places. If you don't feel like walking there is usually a scooter or two in the parking lot."

"I got a room for husband’s birthday. I hired a young lady with M.E.L.I to decorate the room as a surprise. While getting the room ready she set her bag on a bed side table that was anchored to the wall. It fell and broke. She called front desk, they said 40 mins. She waited almost 90 mins when they arrived the placed broken table into the closet in the room and but a regular bedside table to place it. The debris from the broken table wasn’t swept up. The TV’s casting abilities didn’t work and I was charged $10 for parking which wasn’t told to me when checking in, I saw it on my bill after checking out. Update to review: they charged me 150 for the broken bedside table, showed up in 2 different charges. When I called and asked about it I was housekeeping said it was our fault it broke. Housekeeping never came it was the front desk and a maintenance guy who said those things happen all the time and not to worry about it. I did speak with the manager who said he would refund but I’m not pleased with this experience. Follow up: 2 weeks after speaking to GM who said they would refund, no refund yet. I called and left a message. If I don’t get a return call this week I’ll be stopping in to the hotel"

"This is the previous 1060 Genesee Grand, now the restaurant is called Salt. My salad was tasty with my choice of chicken add on. My friend ordered the onion soup in a bread bowl. Not much soup in the bowl, perhaps the bread soaked it up? Hmm, not worth the price. Dessert choice was creme brulé. Perhaps when Covid has lapsed the menu will be a bit more interesting. Otherwise, service was excellent and my salad was tasty. I heard the crab cakes were yummy too but they were a starter and I was a bit more hungry. Will return in warmer weather and try out the outdoor patio."

"Collegian Hotel (former Genesse Grand Hotel) had friendly staff,but the room was dirty (stepped on toenail on the floor, visible dust behind the bathroom door you could run your finger across) towel bar fell off wall, no beds made the three days we were there, no fresh towels either, restaurant and bar basically not open (lights off, no staff anywhere to be found) very disappointing to say the least. 3 day stay from August 30, 2021 to September 1, The management did refund some of the room charge. This hotel is in a great location they need more attention to detail to get back to what it was."
