"Please do not call yourselves a 5 star! It’s is anything but that. We stayed at the hotel for one night. Having travelled to know what a 5 and 3 star offers, I was expecting a decent stay. We paid over $250 for one night stay with zero amenities! Firstly, the reservations confirmed that the property has a pool. The room was spacious, but dirty. The garbage was still lying from the previous guest stay. We found plastic bags and literal dirt under the table. The room had no water, no slippers. The property didn’t seem full, but we were given a rom facing the building, no view but we didn’t care I had called the property to ask if they could place a microwave and I was told “your floor will have one” that was a lie. One has to go down to use it: it’s filthy dirty smelly with an over flowing garbage right next to it. They clearly didn’t have much restaurant options and we had to carry food for our kid. The breakfast service staff was really warm and nice. Hence one star! I feel sorry that I encouraged my kid to carry his swim suit, he was extremely sad and so were we! Marriott was such a charmer, not this one for sure!"

"Attended the roaring 20s New Year's Celebration. The entertainment and the bands were awesome. The food was great and a lot to do for the evening. The rooms were clean and the staff worked hard to accommodate all the guests! Great job!"

"Our bathroom door was broken and difficult to shut. The bathroom was clean and so was the room. The shower was difficult to use. In order to turn it on you have to get in the shower and endure the cold water while waiting for the warm water. We were also unhappy with the service at the party we went to on site. Some of the food was cold. The waiters would come and take a fresh drink off the table if you left it to go and dance. The drinks were expensive. The atmosphere was lovely. The bathrooms were very clean which was very nice."

"I held an event to celebrate the publishing of a collaborative book in Syracuse and was able to have guests stay at Hotel Syracuse. All of the guests were completely impressed with the hotel... it is beautiful, clean, and they loved the historic and nostalgic feel to it. It was easy to work with the events coordinator, she communicated frequently and answered all questions I had. The service desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. This was the third time I have stayed at this hotel... it is my favorite one in the Syracuse area."

"Beautiful, elegant hotel. It's such a treat to stay in a hotel that wasn't slapped up in 4 months, with cheap decor and cardboard walls. Oh no, not here! This baby was built in 1924 and has been restored (at a cost of $82 million dollars) after sitting vacant for 12 years. This hotel has the original (STUNNING!!!) coffered ceiling in the lobby and retains a lot of the beautiful old architectural elements from back then. The rooms are beautifully and very tastefully updated, with in room coffee makers and refrigerators. The location is really good, in the heart of downtown. There's an indoor food court right across the street and many other restaurants close by. My stay here has been very pleasant and I highly recommend this gorgeous hotel."
