About the Business

Corning Tower Observation Deck

The Corning Tower Observation Deck is a must-visit tourist attraction located in Albany, New York. This 42-story building, dedicated to the memory of former Albany mayor Erastus Corning 2nd, offers stunning views of Albany, the Empire State Plaza, and the surrounding areas. From the Observation Deck on the 42nd floor, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Hudson River Valley, the Port of Albany, the Adirondacks, the Catskills, and even the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. The Corning Tower is the tallest building in New York State outside of New York City, and its modern design with glass and marble makes it a prominent feature of the Albany skyline. "Beautiful experience! A quick and easy stop, 10 min in and out. I'm terrified of heights, so I was glad the elevator made the 42-story trek in seconds, however... the elevator DOES make the 42 story trek in seconds lol. Check out the attached photos of the building and views. HIGHLY RECOMMEND"

"I haven't been there when I visit the Nelson Rockefeller State Plaza. The Corning Tower is part of the attractions or a landmark for the city of Albany itself. However, I never been all the way up to the top of this building where there is a deck with view to the entire City. People that visited the deck said that it is impressive. If you are not afraid of the high, as I am, I will recommend to visit this place. I am not sure wether you have to make a reservation or appointment to visit this place. Also, I don't know if it is free of charges. You can find out more if you go to the State of New York Official Website. There, you can find the answers to all the questions you might have prior to visit anyplace in Albany. So enjoy it. And as I always say, please help us to maintain and to keep safe the public places in Albany. If you see something say something."

"Free! You will have to pay to park, but the observation tower is free. There's plenty to see and do within walking distance."

"Easy to get to and well signed. Went on a snowy day and to my surprise you could actually see quite at lot of the city. I will visit again on a nice sunny day. Bathroom were clean and easy to access. Entry to the Observation level is Free of charge which a great bonus. Signs with information about the surrounding sites was definitely helpful. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area. Check opening and closing time. Cause it’s not open on the weekends."

"Great free observation area. Just walk into the building and take the elevator to the top. No fuss, no cost. We had a nice little visit and enjoyed seeing Albany and the surrounding area. Not a lot of people here, so it was all very easy."
