Embassy Suites by Hilton Knoxville West

"This hotel is very nice. I enjoyed my stay but the on-site restaurant for dinner was absolutely disgusting. I ordered a takeout order face-to-face and I was charged a 20% fee for takeout. The bread of the sandwich was burned, serving a chicken tender as a fried chicken sandwich was not good and the fries were undercooked. Since they had a pizza oven right there I thought pizza would be a good choice but the pizza was horrible, it was undercooked as well and all of this took 45 minutes to prepare. The breakfast was wonderful and everybody always greeted me as I walked past. I recommend the hotel but I do not recommend having dinner there you'd be better off ordering delivery from anywhere else. If I'm rating based on the on-site restaurant it would be 1 star and that would be generous but I'm rating the hotel itself and room"

"Overall the hotel was very clean, the door entry needs a little work compared to how very clean the rest of the hotel is kept. Love the lobby layout, the fire pits outdoors, the elevators, halls and my room were awesome. Breakfast was fantastic, omelettes made to order was also great. Finally, the snack bar area was good, but scarcely stocked."

"Spent a full week at this hotel and came out quite happy with the property. There are plenty of pictures of the rooms on the web, this is a bit different than other Embassy Suites, many of the rooms are a single room, not two rooms. This isn't that much of a problem, it was just unexpected. Breakfast is included and it is passable and the omelet bar is worth it if you like an omelet. The manager's reception is a very busy place and they have a good basic bar at the hotel. Unfortunately, the restaurant at the hotel - Flying Spoons - was pretty bad. The NY Strip was terrible - flavorless and one of most fatty cuts I have ever seen and I am not sure how they cook it. The Pizza is worth it but skip the rest and Knoxville has plenty of other choices. The gem of this hotel is the courtyard and the gas fireplaces in them. You can see them in pictures but they were on almost all of our stay and they were lovely. The outdoor furniture is not the greatest - but it really didn't matter, that was such a nice surprise. We spent hours out there by the fire. The location has close interstate access, so our business travels were quite simple. I recommend this Embassy Suites location, we enjoyed staying at this hotel and hope to for every visit to Knoxville."

"When traveling through Knoxville, this will be our new stop over for the night. The rooms are very clean. The breakfast was amazing and the staff were extremely attentive. Compliments to Mort, who stopped by our table several times to check on us and offer to help us with our four kids, even making one of our daughters a waffle. Mr. Dee worked the omelette station and did an amazing job. A good omelette is hard to make. It was probably one of the best, even better than the Broadmore in Colorado. Ming restocked the buffet and was friendly and greeted everyone with a smile. The front desk staff greeted us when we walked in and could not have been kinder. You can have the best hotel in the world with all of the amenities, and if you don’t have a good staff, you don’t have anything. Some of my general comments would be that the water pressure was a little low, the cold water was not really cold, and the water was very soft. For some, all of those things are positives. The hotel does sit next to a truck warehouse center, so the views are not all that great. Still, for the price, this has been our best experience in Knoxville thus far."

"Nice Hotel. Friendly staff. Only have one minor thing to point out with my room. The air handler in my room was really noisy. It woke me up every time is came on. My only complaint is one of the guests had 2 large dogs and was staying on the same floor as me. I met her in the hallway twice and apparently she thought it was okay to walk her dogs on a 25 foot lead. I had to stop the 2 times I met her in the hall so she could get her dogs under control so I could pass. I have a dog and I do not allow my dog to behave that way. He is walking at heel when in public spaces. I don't know what the Hotel Rules are for dogs but this made my brief stay less enjoyable. Considering Embassy Suites is an upscale hotel and the amount of money I paid I expect hotel management to ensure guests controlled their pets."
