"I /we have stayed at this newest top starred hotel which is a Hilton Curio hotel. Elegant decor with a Virginia focus in both photos in room, books in common first floor library and some Virginia made room furniture. There us also a vestibule adjacent to front desk which exhibits Made in Virginia leathers, body care and more. Pros: comfortable beds, intelligent and accommodating staff, Starbucks on first floor for real coffee (k-cups in room), roof bar ( have not been). Cons: when first opened rooms were spotless and walks, doors, furniture were clean and in pristine condition. NOW several years “post grand opening “, that is not the case. There has been a significant drop in the upkeep and attention to cleanliness to bedrooms , baths, hallways. Vacuuming, wiping long hanging dust nets from hallways , removing takeout bags/boxes from outside doors, removing large dead bugs that have found way into showers , keeping towels dust free , replacing all bath accessories so new guests have complete new room, steam cleaning stains off the rugs, and wiping brown shaded stains off separate toilets area walls. Very disappointing changes experienced as stated above which will result in staying at the CT again or trying the new Hilton TRU, although it is out of the way. Management was very professional when my concerns were expressed and offered multiple options for compensation. This was very appreciative that an apologetic vs indifferent attitude was taken . THANK YOU. But, the bottom line : rooms should be CLEAN and INVITING and smell clean not dusty. Hallways should be CLEAN and garbage-free. Are there staffing issues? Are there open management positions? Because someone should be checking all the rooms so that all meet the high standards that were once the norm. Hilton has turned this dwindling building into a beautiful and important part of downtown Lynchburg. Please keep it the most desirable and accommodating facility.,"
