Residence Inn by Marriott Lynchburg

"Bugs, Broken glass, and Dirty I stayed her with my wife and two toddlers during thanksgiving weekend in adjoining rooms (305 & 307). We arrived at the hotel Wednesday evening after traveling from PA. After unloading our bags into room 305, we noticed the toilet was filthy with poop smeared inside of the bowl (see pics). We also noticed the tub was dirty. We then decided to inspect both rooms and came across bugs in the rooms, trash in the cabinets, and dirty dishes in the refrigerators. At this point, we called the front desk to let them know the conditions of the rooms. Fortunately, the front desk associate understood our concerns and actually came up to our room and cleaned the toilet and tub herself. This was unexpected and much appreciated. She also told us that the cleaning staff went home for the night but would return the following day to clean our rooms, and that she would leave a note for her GM regarding the conditions of the rooms. A little while later, my wife cut her finger on a 3” piece of broken glass that was in between the cushions of the couch (see pics) in room 307. We again called down to the front desk and we were instructed to take pictures of the glass along with my wife’s cut. The overnight front desk associate also told us that the GM or assistant GM would be in contact with us the following day. Outside of fresh towels, that we were required to request daily, and staff changing our sheets once during our stay, OUR ROOMS WERE NEVER CLEANED. Additionally, we were never contacted by the GM or assistant GM regarding any of our issues. Overall, outside of the one front desk associate who went above and beyond her job duties when we checked in, the management and staff were unresponsive."

"My room was simply fantastic! The price per night was very fair. The staff was always friendly. I enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. Bought two beers from the inn's store and had a great conversation with a nice guy from the area. Highly recommend staying there."

"Pool is closed (seasonal opening from July to middle of September). No indoor pool. Otherwise very good. Could do with an indoor pool or year round outdoor heated pool. Very modern. Great life safety here felt very safe. The Receptionists are very good and have good guest rapport. The breakfast team are great. Very clean and tidy everywhere. Quiet room. Thank you."

"The dishwasher had dirty dishes in it. The bathroom needed a proper cleaning, evidence of mold starting to grow, from lack of cleaning. In general everything seemed in good repair. The cleaning staff just needs to pay a little more attention to detail. I would stay again as a last resort."

"Everything about the hotel was absolutely beautiful. We were checked in by Rachel and she was exceptionally friendly and professional. I wish she could check us in at every hotel. The hotel was right off Hwy 29 and easily accessible. The room exceeded all expectations. We were only there for one night, and while we did not take advantage of the fire ring and pool (too busy curled up on the couch watching a movie on TV) we had a great view of both from our room and it was obvious both were being very much enjoyed. The hot breakfast was a great addition. Absolutely no need to stop later for an additional breakfast and the staff ensured the food remained fresh and the entire area remained clean."
