"Nelo gave me the best blow out I’ve ever had when I was in town visiting my cousin for her baby shower. She immediately knew how to handle my hair, which is coarse, curly and in the process of natural color transition. She was able to give a stunning blow out and didn’t even need a flat iron for smoothing, which never happens with my hair! She was very sweet. I would definitely come back to see her again! Wish I lived locally so she could style my hair all the time."

My stylist Niana was informative as well as engaging with my desired look. She also addressed my concerns and provided great recommendations. "Niana cut my long hair Sat, 12/2. I asked for long layers. She gave me a mullet. I didn’t realize what she did until I got home. I reached out to her immediately and I contacted the salon the next morning. There has been no response. See pics below. Pic 1 is what Niana did to my hair, pic 2 is what I asked for, pics 3 and 4 are what I had when I went in (stills from a video). She thinned my hair until there was barely anything left. I repeatedly told her I need to look conservative and polished for work, and that I like to wear ponytails where I have “a few face framing pieces that fall out.” I’ve had this same basic haircut most of my adult life. It’s a common, conventional cut. She cut awkward-length bangs all the way back to my ears (I previously had no bangs at all). They are too short to tuck behind my ears. It requires 8 bobby pins to hold them back, and stray pieces still fall out. She left the bottom of the back very long. It truly is a mullet. This was my second time here. The first time a different stylist (the owner, Fred) also didn’t do what I asked, but it was closer in line with what I asked for. It was very pretty, and I left a positive review. She claims to have 27 years of experience but to me this seems like the work of someone fresh out of cosmetology school. Any reasonable hair dresser should be very sure before they cut 8+ inches off the front — and before they cut bangs. It’s jarring to me that after five days they still haven’t responded to me at all. I’m not sure if I should just go in or what. The state cosmetology board encouraged me to report this to the consumer protection bureau, which I did. I hate to be litigious but this is really not right."

I have to say, she exceeded my expectations. She is extremely personable and professional. She listens and offers suggestions, and the product was exactly as she explained it would be. My daughter is over the moon and the color and blow dry are perfection. She even added gorgeous curls. Crystal is fabulous and a true hair artist."
