"The house was beautiful and I did really enjoy the experience stay there. At first the owner was extremely helpful, but when we left we received an email that left a sour taste in our mouths. I came here with my family, hence I am not the person who booked the house, but I saw the email sent. When we came home we received a lengthy email including “errors” left behind; including crumbs lefts behind, and misplaced pillows (?) and was charged an additional fee. It’s baffling that she considered that an issue and said that the pillow was meant to be elsewhere on another couch. It’s disappointing to come home from an amazing week to receive that type of email especially when it’s over things like a misplaced pillow and crumbs on the carpet that she zoomed in to photograph? Highly unprofessional and childish in a sense. She also reminded us that cleaners were coming to before our departure, and we did our best to clean before leaving. You would think hiring cleaners they would do what their hired to do; clean. Mind you we took out the trash from the house as instructed (or else you’ll be fined) and placed all the items we used back. She told my aunt later that we were supposed to pull out the DUMPSTER cans on Monday like we would’ve known trash day was Monday (we don’t live there, how would he know the schedule). We brought our OWN items so we wouldn’t have to use those from the cupboards. Seeing her response to the other reviewer was a little distasteful as well and there were more professional ways to address it. Hopefully anyone looking to stay here has a wonderful stay and a pleasant vacation, because we experienced else wise."

"Unfortunately, my experience with Maryhouse was very disappointing. I thought I had secured a "hold" on a house for the first week of Sept (2019) and was told I had 10 days to sign the lease and provide the first payment installation. Mary told me she would contact me if anyone else was interested in the house during the 10 day hold period. The woman who rented the house the prior year during the first week of Sept contacted Mary during my "hold" period. Mary did not give me a chance to confirm my reservation, which I would have done right away by texting her a picture of the signed lease and Paypal'ing her right away (note Mary did not give any options except snail mail which takes time). Mary gave the house to the other renter during my "hold" period!!! The final straw was that Mary told me another house on her website "25 Ocean" was already booked for the first week of Sept (she "knew this" even though she had sold the house). I checked with the new realtor and in fact 25 Ocean was NOT BOOKED. So Mary was trying to re-direct me to her listings with false information. Regardless, I ended up booking in Rehoboth Beach. The above caused a lot of drama with my family and I wasted a lot of time on Cape May listings. Very poor customer service by Mary."
