Congress Hall

"We went to the "Brown Room" for drinks! Absolutely horrible service! We waited for 40 minutes at the bar for drinks as the bartender kept walking by, waved at him several times and was IGNORED. The bartender had an attitude because he was alone and very busy which I understand. There were no clean glasses for drinks! WHY?? I ALWAYS tip very well, and gave him a tip, however he didn't deserve it. We pay him with tips and if he is unhappy, LEAVE and QUIT! Very unhappy with the bar service. This is supposed to be a "higher end" establishment. I've had MUCH better service at dive bars and clubs! This Needs help, I won't return nor will I recommend anyone to go there. I was not the only one complaining as there were MANY people waiting. I guess I am the only one that would post such horrible treatment! Only reach out to me IF you plan to fix this issue. Extremely disappointed in the service and the treatment!"

"Such a beautiful Hotel! It was decorated beautifully for the holidays. The bar was so cozy with a beautiful vibe and gorgeous fireplace. Going to make this a holiday tradition. The rooms were clean and quaint. Loved that they had outdoor seating with heaters in the winter. Great outdoor concessions for holiday shopping. Loved the churro and hot chocolate bar. Everything was just beautiful!"

"I have been going to Congress Hall for 20 Years. I believe the last time I checked in I had stayed there 400 nights:). So, clearly it’s a special place for me and my children who have grown up there celebrating their birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, summer vacations, spring breaks, and many other moments. The staff and service has always been spot on and their variety of activities and quiet spaces make for the perfect getaway for all ages. I have stayed at all of the Cape Resort hotels in Cape May and each one is unique. But Congress Hall is the Grand Dame of them all and its seaside location and great lawn are simply majestic. I’m grateful it’s only a 2 hour drive from home because often I will just escape for a night alone to breathe in the ocean air and walk along their beaches while staying in a place that feels better than home."

"Not only is this hotel steeped in history and the tradition of the east coast's first seaside resort town, they know hospitality! The hotel is located perfectly near the ocean with views galore! Our room provided the unique opportunity to see BOTH sunset and sunrise through the same window! Fireside couches, a cozy upscale bar setting and dining/shopping options on site make for a complete vacation experience. We will return!"

"I absolutely love this hotel. It's the oldest seaside resort in America. It's absolutely charming. It has a restaurant, The Blue Pig, with excellent food. There's also a coffee shop with bakery goods and sundries, along with a couple of small gift/clothing/souvenir shops. I asked for a quiet room on our 3rd visit, and the request was not honored. Also, we were shut out of the fabulous Thanksgiving buffet, and I firmly believe there should be a spot available for everyone staying at the resort over the holidays. The decorations are amazing, the lobby is welcoming, with a fireplace and cozy seating. Two bars and a beautifully decorated yard round out the experience."
