"Should have been 5 stars, amazing view, great price, staff, cleanliness and location.. However, the hardest bed I have ever slept on. Felt like I was sleeping on the floor. Barely slept and could barely walk the next day."

"Had 2 oceanfront rooms for an overnight with friends . The room while small was clean and updated with beautiful views . The location is a bit off the beaten path but Harry’s and dueling pianos was a blast . My only complaint and I don’t typically post reviews , was the lack of service and pleasantries . The check in process was chaotic and the young man behind the desk was totally disengaged and couldn’t answer any questions . Checkout this am was the same and I will go as far to say the young lady at the desk was not only disengaged but actually rude .. I understand it is off season and it may be hard to get help , but it was a bustling holiday weekend and in a customer service industry was very disappointing to say the least !"

"Best place to stay "on the beach" in Cape May. We will be back! Cute room with a set of queen beds, closet and a pocket door to separate it from the rest of the space. Kitchenette fully stocked including rock and wine glasses. There was a bathroom with a tub/shower combo, and a living room with a pullout sofa bed (decently comfy) that led out to a private patio. The patio had 3 plastic chairs and a small table with a view overlooking the ocean. The sliding door was pretty noise tight. It was super windy and the only complaint was the wind traveling right into the bedroom from the outside hall through the gap between the front door and floor, we shoved a towel there to stop it. Other than that it was awesome! So much so we added an extra night!"

"This was our first and last visit to the Montreal Beach Resort. Calling itself a “resort” is a bit of a stretch. The location is terrific, however many of the ocean-front views are impeded by a large structure sheltering the outdoor dining area for Harry’s. When we checked in, we discovered that our carefully chosen room with a queen bed and private balcony overlooked Harry’s rooftop bar, and party goers were looking right back at us. Along with the loud music it was, needless to say, not the relaxing getaway we had in mind. The front desk staff accommodated our request to change rooms, however the new room was called a “suite”. So for $62 more, we now had just two double beds! also an extra sink and some cabinets, along with a sorta clean couch in a very small living area, all overlooking the noisy pool. It didn’t feel like an upgrade, especially when I found a dirty washcloth hanging over the bathroom shower rod, and a very rusty coffee maker. The lighting in the room was harsh, every bulb a bright white LED. And the light on the semi-private balcony stayed on all night and into the morning, not at all conducive to enjoying a cup of coffee with the sunrise. This is the point in the review where management will respond “you should have let us know, we would have been happy to fix it”. However, as we found out the following day when the tap water was brown (not the hotel’s fault, but due to construction in town), there was no manager on site, and the front desk staff tried to insist that we pay for the single bottle of water we asked for to brush our teeth. I would not have bothered with leaving a review, if it wasn’t for the price – over $580 for 2 nights in October. Cape May is a wonderful little seaside town, but there are many other far better and much more relaxing choices you could make for this price."
