Roar and Snore Taronga Zoo
“We had a great time! It is very cool being in the Zoo at night and walking around seeing the animals so active under the red torches. It is also cool to be there before it opens the next day and seeing the Zoo and Zoo animals being prepped for the day. We were very fortunate and got a perfect night weather wise, and our group were very mobile so this allowed us to get around with ease. Canapés, drinks, dinner and breakfast were all great and the Zoo Staff were sensational. The Roar and Snore tents are very comfy. We went in winter and the electric blanket they provide was very much appreciated. You certainly hear the animals and we got a very feisty male lion roaring for his pride throughout the night, but that’s what you want right? We went on a Thursday night when it is cheaper. We certainly thought we got value from our tickets. Highly recommend doing this.”
Taronga Zoo Sydney
“Well-designed and lovely zoo. The Wildlife Retreat is where we stayed, so getting to the zoo was simple. Amazing displays. Big zoo, but not overpowering like some can be. Cashless. Numerous displays of Australian animals may be located all across the zoo. They have amazing viewing spots that let you get close-up and personal. From Circular Quay, using the ferry and bus is simple.”

Wildlife Retreat at Taronga
“Everything was 10 out of 10! I loved how sustainability was at the heart of the retreat. As soon as we arrived all staff were welcoming and willing to assist. Our room was incredible with a friendly koala outside our window. Everywhere was accessible with lifts and ramps. Love how the stay included dinner at Me-gal and access to the zoo.”
Bradleys Head Walking Track
“Perhaps it is the easiest Walking Track around Sydney Harbor. Its 1.6 kms trail mostly equipped with decking and handrails. If you wish, you can extend your journey eastward to Chowder Bay, or westward to Sirius Cove. The Million dollar Sydney Harbor Views are free for anyone who is willing to embark on this approximately 16 minutes walk. Public Transport is also available, but it would be much better to check the timetables before organizing your trips. Bradleys Head is a very Popular Wedding Photography Venue, so that if you like to take the pictures, you might need at least 2 hours for a return trip. I am uploading a few photos taken recently as my recommendations.”
Bradleys Head to Chowder Bay walk
“Part of the Bondi to Manly walk and A great walk by itself. Lots of bush land and harbour views on well formed and managed tracks with information signs along the way. Ring your own water and refreshments as there in only eateries and coffee at the end.”
Sirius Cove Reserve
“Beautiful spot with quiet water, there are tables and chairs & shaded grass area. There are bbqs too. Be warned that there are lots of dogs and if you're not fond of dogs, I wouldn't recommend it. Parking is free but limited. There's a toilet block & drinking water”
Carroll's Lookout
“@edward rennie, Carroll lookout refers to the Carroll family, owners of the beachfront land between the lookout and the beach club prior to WWII. Still residents of Mosman to this day.”
Wild Ropes
“Great fun for all ages, kid course is well designed with helpful and attentive minders who assist on course. Parents are not allowed on the course and this is both mentally beneficial for both the kids and parents. Kids will find it challenging during the initial run, but will likely accomplish and start experimenting quickly. Good mix of challenge and fake danger in safe conditions. Expect scrapes and bruises depending on ability.”
Me-Gal Restaurant
“Brilliant experience. Convenient spot to have dinner after the zoo, can see the sunset with the view of the bridge and Opera House. Food and service was delightful.”
Frenchy's Cafe.
“This place is a hidden gem in Mosman. Amazingly good coffee. Quiche is a must try. And you can walk to such amazing views of the Watson bay from here. Perfect place situated in the most picturesque location.”
Terrey Hills Caravan Park
“I'm giving this a 5 because, altho' (as some others note) it is a little dated, the manager (in our case Margaret!) has been so determined to make good our needs and make us feel welcome on both occasions we have stayed, Terrey Hills C.P. has become a favourite Sydney hangout for us.”
