The Hornsby Inn
“Had the seafood pasta and Chips. Fresh and crunchy chips and the seafood pasta was equally delicious with good flavours. Loved both the service and food”
Hornsby Railway Hotel
“I have been here at the bistro a few times and I have always loved the Nepali food here. My experience is strictly from the point of view of the Nepali food perspective. Chef Ram is an amazingly warm person who puts his heart out in the food he serves. The Momos here are actually better than what you may get at an actual Nepali restaurant. I find it less noisier than RSL. Have gone here a few times and will go again.”
Hawkesbury River Oyster Shed
“A nice and relaxing place to get your oyster fix. Looking forward to going back. I arrived around 1:30pm on a Sunday and it was packed. They ran out of Pacific oysters by the time I got to order. Waited about fifteen minutes in line. The prawns were amazing. Scallops were well prepared and highly recommend them. The staff are very hard working and do an incredible job dealing with everyone. Great little system of bringing back your plates and scraps to a central location helps with keeping the place tidy and running efficiently. Bathroom facilities available on site. You can walk over a bit to the other side of the place to the local pearl shop nearby, and the RSL for a drink or coffee afterwards.”
Life Boat Seafoods
“Tucked away near Brooklyn Wharf this small but efficient seafood cafe is wonderful. Eat in at the tables in the shade or takeaway, the food is fresh and delicious. Generous portions, well priced and a friendly atmosphere.”
Homer's Kitchen
“The sign said " Best Bacon & Egg Roll in town! " A bold claim even if it's the only B&E roll available in town. However it was excellent in both quality & generosity.”
Daniel's (Daniel’s Den)
“The new salon is divine! Congratulations Daniel, Naomi and team. My 6 monthly keratin treatment tonight in the new salon was a fabulous experience. Naomi takes such wonderful care and her attention to detail is second to none. I can’t wait to come back next week for my colour to enjoy more pampering. I highly recommend Daniel’s! XBx”
Berowra Waters Inn
“Culinary experience best enjoyed with company. Great location to enjoy a private unique degustation only accessible by water, expect to spend a few hours here for the course. Service was top tier outstanding by all staff. Highly recommend the specially crafted Old Fashioned.”
Wise Monkey Cafe Berowra

Wisemans Inn Hotel
“We had the best value lunch today at the Wiso Pub! $15 huge schnitty with chips and mine with veg. The service was amazing and meal served quickly. The schnitty was soft & juicy not dry and was a double breast. The views over the river were spectacular. We will come back soon.”
A Chef Secrets
“There are very few restaurants this good for quality, location and views. On a blue sky day it simply glows. Come on a weekday (weekends are packed) and Mario gives you just the right level of service - he takes you through each dish and the intricate details needed to make each bite amazing. The dishes look like works of art, the food tastes amazing (the rocket and eggs from his farm, the marscapone must be from Italia) and the wines are great. The only debate was if it was a one hatted or two hatted standard of restaurant, and where does it slot in compared to other top level Italiano restaurants in the City or Paddington. Keep it up Mario, we salute you.”
Berowra Village Tavern
“Lovely service, tasty and hot food served fast, comfortable seats and tables. I had the plant based schnitzel with mash, steamed veg, and green pepper sauce.”
Bambinos Too Pizza, Pasta & Ribs
“Pizzas are brilliant - very very tasty and packed with topping (had the Buffalo Chicken). Garlic pizza was super garlic-y. Proper soft bubbly base and crusts. Perfect!!”
Blue Gum Hotel
“Restaurant was perfect. For accommodation above a pub it is good enough. Rated it a 5 star because I’m being fair - I’ve got no complaints (not because it’s a typical 5 star room).. bathroom very clean.”
The Galston Club
“Been years since I’ve been down to the club. Dropped in because I couldn’t be bothered cooking tonight. $15 for a very nice steak, salad and chips with sauce on the side including a free glass of wine. Why in the world would you cook? I’m coming back every Saturday night and renewed my membership to make that easier! Very nice meal and excellent value.”
The Vintage Secret Garden
“It was the Easter weekend, so it was busy. The outdoor setting was a mixture of shade and sunshine. They were able to accommodate large groups. The pizza was excellent. The food was fresh and well prepared. The drinks were delicious. We had a great time and enjoyed being there. The garden was an added bonus.”
Dangar Island Bowling Club
“Such a great experience the other day, as usual... The magical atmosphere, the high standard, locally sourced ingredients and seasonal specials make the island experience one that never tires! Super!!”
Hotel Pennant Hills
“Sophie, Charlie and Kyota WERE AMAZING!! Their customer service was incredible!! They were so sweet and made us feel so welcomed. THEY NEED A PAY RISE!! Kindest regards, Skye and Bri.”
The Anglers Rest
“This is my go-to brunch/lunch stop at the end of the Cowan to Brooklyn hike. It's a really nice pub with a big outside area and great food in Brooklyn. If you are in the area I can highly recommend it for lunch. I've never been there at night or weekdays so cannot comment on that, but for a lunch on a sunny day it's great!”
King Tide Cafe
“A bit of a gem! A schlep to get there, and the parking can be a bit hard to find at times, but it’s worth it. Best to go on a weekday when it’s less busy. The fish and chips is spectacular, especially when they have fresh locally caught flathead from the Hawkesbury. FYI they’re not licensed, so you can bring your own or buy at the bottle-o next door, they’ll charge you a small corkage.”
Angler's Rest Hotel Off The Hook Bistro
“A lovely restaurant with a great team behind it. A varied menu with a lot of seafood options on it. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Food is fast and fresh. Great coffees, tea and deserts too. Easy parking and a couple of minutes walk away from the train station.”
Fitzies Fish and Chips
“Delicious, fresh and not greasy at all. Juicy prawn cutlets, tender crumbed calamari and melt in your mouth grilled fish.”
Station Street Bistro
“We had momo, chicken choila and chicken chowmein. Amazing food. And cocktail was great. Loved the food. However seating needs bit of TLC.”
The Vicar
“Great location, very hidden. I have driven past this placed since it opened and never explored it. Sadly we visited on St Patricks Day, which Guinness themselves said they have the magic beer... but no, disappointed. The drive through?? The guy just pointed and said its over there? We were the only ones there, and No Guinness which made me angry.. But this review is for The Vicar... a definite to visit again, just not on St Patricks day”
The Verandah Beecroft
“Had a lovely celebration lunch for my husband's 30th. The food and service was fantastic. I loved that they had a clean high chair set up for us for my little one, just made it so much easier than trying to find one myself one handed! Drinks were on point. Food was so delicious. Would highly recommend, thank you for such a wonderful day with our family!”
Estuary
“We had a great lunch at the Estuary today. The staff are friendly and helpful, food was delicious - fish was particularly good and the duck confit pie. Highly recommend both! Great location, definitely worth a visit especially on a Sunny day like today! Views add to the experience.”
The Lodge
“Fresh and very tasty. Meal was hot and presented very well. I was quite surprised that a local could offer up such good value and taste. Definitely coming back.”
Cowan Oval
“Great oval. Little playground (unfenced) to the side of oval, toilets, BBQ facilities, oval set right on the bush.”
