“The clerk is a very knowledgeable person about making contact with small animals, and in the short time I spent with him, I could see and feel that the clerk boy would make my cat trust him with eye contact and the way the animals looked at each other! That convinced me! Because I saw his eyes, looking at the cats not only with intention, but also with strong love and concern. I don't know anything about this store clerk, but I put my most important family member in his hands! It was because his eyes and the way he communicated with the animals made me feel his warmth and love for animals ❤️ I felt he had a gift for communicating and interacting with them! I can tell he prefers to talk to animals and be friends rather than humans! Of course this is a joke! But you can also tell! Sending cats to people like this! It's an incredibly wise choice! Not only loving but also professional and attentive! Perfect!”

“Have been there several times for my Persian Cat. They did the first two vaccinations for my cat and it was awesome as my kitten felt no pain. During vaccination sessions, I talked to vet about my kitten eye discharge problem and he said it’s normal for Persian ones. When the discharge issue got worse, we visited the vet again and the new vet said that it’s an eye infection and could be treated easily. I was upset as the kitten has experienced huge uncomfortable over the past months because of his eye discharge problem. We met the centre several times and they prescribed medications to treat eye discharge. In the beginning, the eyes start to heal and I thought my kitten will be free of pain and suffering soon. However, the eye discharged back after couple of months. They charged us huge and provided medications with much higher cost than others. Really disappointed and will not visit again or recommend. Southern Cross Vet Surry Hills sounds suitable for general staff like vaccinations but needs to improve significantly in other areas.”

“Words don't begin to describe this place, but a goofy dog grin might do the trick. Humans find solace in Bunnings, Kmart and maybe even Costco, to them that is their Mecca. To Pets, meet Petbarn. The paradise of petty pleasure, I stumbled into this place and my wallet was slightly nervy as was the doxie waiting at home. Playing it cool, I had a Click and Collect order to pick up, nothing else, willpower steady. I was promptly attended to by the cheery lady at the counter who swiftly picked up the order and asked if I needed anything else. My mind was telling me no, but my body, my body was telling me yes (F. U. R. Kelly, btw). You don't enter pet heaven that often. I offered an olive branch, "We just got a little puppy so this will be a Godsend", the replies were short and succinct, how old? what breed? is she partial to a toy or three? Fast forward one minute and I'm leaving the store (despite my glued feet) with the best goody bag I'd received in my life (entire childhood included). Even though I wasn't able to enjoy any of the contents, my shy, little whippet of a doxie came out of her shell and that made it all worth it. Central location. Fantastic service. Enormous variety. Plus a catchy Frequent Feeder Program to boot. Will be back, will be bankrupt by June, will have an ecstatic pupperoony.”

“Dr Sam and his team at Southern Cross Vets are simply outstanding and I couldn't recommend them more!! (For context: we had been taking our Corgi puppy, Wallace, to a different Veterinary hospital that was in closer proximity to our home and when Wallace became very unwell with a nasty tummy bug, after multiple trips to this Vet, we felt very much in the dark, disillusioned by the service and a team who dismissed our concerns without in depth investigation, and charging exorbitant fees with no outcome.) Dr Sam and Southern Cross Vet have been the opposite in every way possible: the kindness, care, expertise and communication have been a breath of fresh air, and within 12 hours of our initial video consult with Dr Sam on a Monday morning, Wallace was being treated and we were armed with the information we needed to help him make a full recovery. Wallace also received his test results back within 18 hours and we were able to collect more medication from the St Peters clinic - although in the future, I will make use of the fabulous concierge service! Wallace is now the happiest little pup, and we are over the moon that he is on the road to recovery. The follow-up/ check-in messages from Dr Sam throughout the days after were also so so lovely; coming from the country NSW, it has felt like warm country hospitality in the middle of the Sydney, which is very uncommon. To say we are grateful and pleased to have found Southern Cross Vets is an understatement. I will be shouting their praise throughout Balmain and Rozelle in the hope more people with young pups will be able to experience this unrivalled level of service from the moment they bring their puppy home (see sweet photo of little Wallace in the safe hands of Southern Cross Vets). I think the moral of the story is don't always settle for a Vet that is more conveniently located; the extra minutes spent driving a little further away are instantly refunded in the health of your pet and the wealth of knowledge that comes from great service!”
