The Standard at St. Louis

"Jack Simpson, the Maintenance Supervisor at The Standard, deserves a raise and nothing but the best of everything. Jack is always friendly whenever I run into him and always has a treat to give my dog. He takes his job seriously and really prioritizes the well-being of residents and their residences. It's evident by how quickly and efficiently he gets things done. When I first moved in, my apartment had no AC even though it was peak of summer heat in August. Maintenance then was kind of dragging about providing portable AC units, fixing our actual AC, and then later removing the portable units. Jack was the person who finally removed the portable units and did so super quickly. He also made sure to talk to all of my roommates without making us feel like burdens. Ever since he started working at Standard, it is so much easier for people to get things worked out. Most recently, my roommates and I were having trouble with hot water and after the issue persisted after his first visit, he raised the heat on our water heater simply because I saw him in the elevator and told him we were still having problems. Jack doesn't wait around for maintenance requests to pile up, and even if they start to, he is always working hard to fix everything he can. Everyone that works with and/or has met Jack has nothing but good things to say, because he truly is just a good guy and good at his job too. Jack keeps The Standard in business tbh and I hope they know that."

"Living at The Standard for my first college apartment has been a breeze. Management is always communicating with residents, especially the maintenance team. I had ordered shelves and was curious if someone with higher skills than me could put it up. I talked to the Community Ambassadors and before I knew it, Jack, the maintenance manager, perfectly put them up in my room! They look amazing, and it was really generous of Jack to do that for me. I love living here and I would recommend The Standard for any student looking for a place to live!"

"Where do I even begin with Cory, the so-called property manager at Standard St. Louis? This guy is a shining example of incompetence and lack of basic understanding and compassion. Managing a property should be a straightforward task, but apparently, that's too much to ask for from Cory. Let's start with the blatant disregard for basic rules. I've witnessed staff members openly smoking on the residence premises, making it abundantly clear that Cory has zero control over the goings-on at the property. I mean, isn't it his job to enforce rules and maintain a semblance of order? Clearly, that's beyond his capabilities. The overall logistics of the apartment are a joke. Garage maintenance? Forget about it. Resident care? Non-existent. It's like Cory is too busy twiddling his thumbs to bother addressing the most basic issues that any competent property manager should handle. ***The entire place feels like a money-grabbing scheme that couldn't care less about its residents.*** And let's not forget the proximity to a college campus. One would think that Cory, being in charge, would have at least an ounce of intelligence or understanding about the unique needs and concerns of residents, especially those next to a college. But alas, my hope was sorely misplaced. Let's not forget about Cory's desperate attempt to cover up his incompetence with some shameless tactics. It appears that the management, in all its wisdom, has resorted to bribing residents for 5-star reviews. Yes, you heard that right – they organize community events and shamelessly dangle perks in front of residents like a carrot on a stick, all in exchange for glowing reviews. These so-called "community events" are nothing more than thinly veiled attempts to buy positive feedback. Attend a gathering, get a free pizza or a cheap trinket, and suddenly, they expect you to sing praises about the property as if all its problems magically disappear with a slice of pepperoni. What truly takes the cake is the laughable sense of entitlement and power hunger displayed by the "higher-leveled" employees. The irony is so thick you could cut it with a knife. These individuals seem more interested in flexing their imaginary authority than actually addressing the real issues plaguing the property. In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering living here to steer clear. Save yourself the headache and frustration. Cory and his band of misfit employees have turned what should be a comfortable living experience into a cautionary tale. Consider this a warning – find somewhere else to live, somewhere with management that actually cares about its residents."
