Turn right onto Abner Point Rd and then left into the parking lot. The mission of Johnson Field Preserve is to preserve and protect Harpswell’s natural resources, cultural heritage, and access to the outdoors through conservation, stewardship, and education. Hermit Island Campground
Hermit Island Campground is a family-oriented seasonal campground located on Hermit Island Road in Phippsburg, Maine, United States. Established in 1952, this rustic campground offers 271 unique sites for tents and pop-up trailers up to 25'. The campground is closed for the season, but visitors and pets are welcome to walk on the island and enjoy the natural surroundings. Reservations for a week or longer must be accompanied by a deposit of $125, and starting in 2025, no requests will be processed without a deposit. The campground offers amenities such as fire pits, picnic tables, parking spaces, and free hot showers. Bathrooms with flushing toilets, composting toilets, porto-potties, and pit toilets are located throughout the campground.
